That this isseue has been set aside as haveing been fixed, and it is not. I have a SW pre pro. In WB what i can do is click the shift button on the base of the stick. This gives me stick set 2, than push hat forward and get the up view. While holding the hat buton in the same position. I can click shift button, and it will pop down to forward up view (stick set 1). Than let go of buttons and get default view. This is smooth and natural and I keep enmy in site at all times.
In AH . iI Have to go from up view. Let go of buttons whitch goes to defalt view. click shift. then push hat for  forward up view. then let go for default view. In this second of popping back to default view between up and foward up view. I lose site of the con sometimes and you know what that means.

I have played FA and AW as well as WB and have never had this problem with any of there set ups. Yes I can access all the views, but it is aukward trying to follow a con through the up views foward and I have the same problem watching a con on my backup to back views when i have to pop back and forth to the default (gunsite) view.

What I have done is use only stick set 1 and i use the shift button as the up view This gives me a smoothe transition in views, but i have all my buttons in use for trims. I have to use the keyboard for flaps and this has me locked in to useing the spit. With Jap planes comeing out. I will want to use the butterflys alot. I would very much like a toggel stick set button of the type used in WB.

If someone hase figured a way around this please post. But only if you have a Side Winder Pre pro.

Hee hee.  You and I should just set up our own board to discuss this.

I have a MS FF Pro and it has the same setup as your stick.

I programmed the HATUP in my StickSet1 to the Forward_Up view.  This means when I press the hat up I get the angled view, when I release it it goes back to the default view.

The downside is that when in external view or  using full pan mode that the up on the hat doesn't work properly, and one has to resort to using the NumPad 8 key.  Seeing as how when this goes out of Beta players won't be able to get external views on-line in fighters and probably not a lot of people fly with full pan, the point isn't terrible serious.

For what it's worth, Hitech is aware of it because I spoke to him about it.  I don't know if there will be a fix or not.

BTW, I am glad to see that your are using the Shift key to toggle up views; I find it very useful and not a "work around".

Cheers,

TT & phaetn:

Thanks again for posting your SW setups.  I had no idea that AH stick setup saw the shift button as 'Button 10'.  Now I configured so that I have the A-D buttons to adjust pitch and roll trim (rudder trim seems least affected on the La-5FN).
