Pyro and Hitech,

During the course of upgrading from v.33 through v.34 to the current version, I have seen a precipitous drop in fps. I understand that the upgrades will naturally induce some decrease in fps but I'm seeing about a 24-25 fps drop since v.33.

My machine is:

Dell P2 400
128 megs RAM
2xVoodoo2 12 meg boards with 16 meg TNT card for 2d.

21" monitor running AH in 1024x768

Maybe there is something you guys can do to the code to smooth it out some before I start seeing another hit with more upgrades. When first released I was getting about 59fps and now I average about 33-34. Just thought I'd let you know.

On the plus side, my connects have generally been rock solid and the game rocks so far. Wish you'd get the Jug out soon but I can wait. <shameless plug>

Not a member of HTC, but I have not garnered more than a 1 to 2 fps drop since the first alpha version I installed. I am only running a Monster II with 8 meg on a PII400. I run
AH in 1024x768 mode with max view enabled and my lowest frame rate is in the tower and it is 26 or so there. Flying it runs around 30 to 40.

Have you tried running just one card to see if it made a difference, turning off sli mode?

I haven't noticed a significant drop either. I have the hi-res textures in use, at 1280x1024. I get about 30 fps in fighters, and about 20 in the B17. In the first version, low res gnd gfx, I had around 35 fps.

However, I'm curious what will the clouds' impact be on fps?

I'm running a P2-300, V3 3000, 128MB.
