Up this week: Okinawa 1945

Okinawa 1945

As American USN and USAAF forces push towards Japan,
key islands are captured to ensure supply routes are
not interrupted.  Furthermore, strategic airfields are
also required for their long range bomber forces to
ease the demands on Guam.

Japan is not without a fight.  The new NIK2 has just
been delivered in conjunction with the Ki-84 finially
reaching IJA airfields that are placed in the flight
paths of American bomber forces.  The P-47 is proving
to be a difficult foe as they escort the bomber groups
with P-38L's now delegated to field strikes and attack
roles, making flying in and around the islands difficult

The IJN has rumours of an American taskforce south of
the islands, carrying the new F4U-1D variant with superior
top speed and a turning radius that surprises the most
seasoned veteran - though the veterans are now much fewer
than before.  The local political officer is talking about
Kamikaze attacks, but that is just talk for now...

A6M5 and N1K2-J is IJN.

Anything with the letter-number-letter-number code is Navy and anything that is Ki-x is Army.  The Navy did use the Ki-67 under a different code.

I went in there tonight. The axis had two bases on the main island. So I roll a Ki84 and notice external view is enabled. Then I kill someone and kill messages are disabled so I have no clue who to salute.

I would suggest enabling kill messages, disabling external view, and making it harder to milk bases if not do away with the whole base capture thing all together.

Fork fixed:  The ack (now .5 of MA)
The external views (now available, as always, only for bombers)
The number of bases held by the Allies.  This is something that we staffers can adjust from time to time as needed.

So come one, come all, this is a fun plane set.

Fixed.  New folks who didn't know that there was no map reset.  Spread the word, spread the word.

Had to reset things again tonight.  I am unilaterally eliminating M3s, C47s and LVTs from this setup until and unless the rest of staff can figure a better way.
