You should come on back. You'd like it better now.

Yes After the initial rush of freedom exploration. folks seem to have mellowed considerably and apart from some of the language used. Most of the threads I've seen there lately for the most part would even survive this place. (prior to its castration)

That's cause you're part of the Fluffly Bunnies usergroup that gets the PG censored puppies and sunshine version of the forum.  FYI

Poor thing.  Is your poutine out of season or just out of place?

I was wondering when that would tone down.

I was wondering when that would tone down.

It had to. human nature.

Friend of mine when I was in my early 20's once worked at an Ice cream joint. The employees were allowed to eat all the ice cream they wanted.
Within a couple of months he was sick of eating ice cream.

Candy has always been readily available at my house. Never stopped my kids from eating it.
Now, neither one of them are big candy eaters and candy usually goes stale before all of it gets eaten.
Which is a pretty neat trick considering the shelf life of some of the candies that are out there.

I don't think so.  The posters simply have something to lose, now, and a lot seem to simply have run out of arguments and/or will to upset status quo.  Good flaming isn't something you just lose taste for.

m00t, I put your line there in my signature yesterday. I'll put it back in there later.

I gotta admit, I do miss being over there a little bit; but it probably makes me a nicer person not to have an outlet for using the F-Bomb every three words. *grin*

Nah. I just don't drop a 4 letter bomb in speech or type much anymore, even though I can in many places. But it doesn't make me a bit nicer.

which line?

It's not disagreement.  I have MT, Airhead, Sandman... RPM (who I dont think I could stand for very long IRL) and a lot of others (well, anyone with brains basicaly) not ignored.  I have anyone who repeats the same freakin thing over and over, or whose posts I can bet are a waste of space 95% of the time.  e.g. MG42 is ignored too, but every now and then I unignore to see if he has something interesting to add, something cogent or insightful, which is what you never have to add.  So yep, you're in the same bin as Beetle, the "never worth it" bin.  It's not that I dislike you (tho I reckon I would), you're just a waste of my time. I'm not saying everyone ought to think so, just that my reading is better off without your vacuous contribution. Idem Weazel.
You're neither hot nor cold, just lukewarm and tasteless. You don't fuel converstation, you're a catalyst for stagnation.  Reading these forums is what I do to let my mind somehow work out the important or difficult stuff (work etc) in the background while I read stuff that, even if it's very meaningful or complex (religion etc), I don't have too much or even any stake in.  I'm not going to waste that time on junk text.

Such as?
Some kind of cred or safe stability.. I don't know exactly. People don't like upsets and constant flux. They like to settle down.. What is a 2 day old joint worth, versus a 2 year old place where you've been having conversations and have built a kind of history?  You wouldn't mind anything in the former, but the latter has value not worth risking over some flames. "something to lose".

Hiyas Mom it has pretty much mellowed out.

Think you'd like it now.....

Come on back and see.........
It's been said we have three brains, one cobbled on top of the next. The stem is first, the reptilian brain; then the mammalian cerebellum; finally the over developed cerebral cortex.  They don't work together in awfully good harmony - hence ax murders, mobs, and socialism.

Some of the stuff I post may be off the wall at times, but I still try to inject a little bit of truth in every post (most of the time). It may not be explicit, but it is there. Most of the time it's a reaction to the society we live in.
