F O C K E-Wulf
« on: February 03, 2009, 01:22:54 AM »
Never mind. It appears you CAN now say FOCKE-Wulf instead of fluffy-wolf on the BBSn

Lets see how Dick Bong comes out...

Sorry about the oops.

"Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture, torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals."

And let us not forget the old punchline:

"Yes, but these fokkers were flying messerschmitts!"

It's part of an old joke but I couldn't find the whole version yet...

A ww2 Spitfire pilot was being interviewed in the latter years of his life and was speaking about a particular dog fight.

"There i was at 15.000 feet and suddenly there was a twittler behind me, i did a loop and got him but there was another twittler on my tail straight away. There was twittlers to the left and twittlers to the right, in front, and twittlers behind me."

At this stage the interviewer turned to the cameras and said.

"For the sake of clearing things up for the viewer, a twittler is a single engined German fighter plane."

"Thats very true." said the pilot. "But these twittlers were Messerschmitts."
We shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be.

OK.  I'm not going to feel very manly in my A8 anymore if it becomes know as a fluffer wolf.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

I remember it was an interview with a Finnish pilot. More or less was a radio interview, something like this. "fokkers everywhere, Hans got two fokkers, Ingbert got two more fokkers and I got three fokkers myself" the interviewer, getting a bit nervous says, "just to clarify, a fokker is a popular type of german aircraft" "Oh ya ya, but these fokkers were flying messerschmitts"
