In the real world, it's a hard decision to choose between the F6F and the P-38 as my favorite plane.  I love the history behind both of the planes and their pilots (they are also some of the most beautiful aircraft).  In game, I really don't have a "favorite."  Some tours I spend more time in particular fighters, but I try to spend an equal amount of time in others.  Like I've told many players, you will almost never see me in the same aircraft 2 sorties in a row.

Also, if I would really have to choose out of all the aircraft, the B-17 would be my favorite both in game and in the real world.  The B-17 played a large part role in WW2, but the main reason is my hometown was a training base for B17 pilots.  I wish I could find some pictures of "back in the day"

Real life?  You're right, Spit is clearly the most beautiful plane ever built.  But my real life favorite is, and has always been, the P-47.  It won the air war in Europe.

My first love would have to be the F4U.  In the game I enjoy the 205.  F4U's are challenging but to fly the 205 and survive (don't do that as offen as I like) you really do need skill.

Mosquito.

What can I say, I like jack-of-all-trades things in my games.

In RL I like the Spitfire and Mosquito for their history, performance and looks.

SBD

A truly remarkable little bird. Tough sturdy and forgiving with more punch then you may give it credit for. While its not a fighter its got the raw capabilities to hold its own both in real life as well as the game.

Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.
