Firefox Text Issue
« on: February 08, 2009, 02:01:04 PM »
I have a problem with Firefox and maybe you guys could help, a few weeks ago I had to completely wipe my hard drive & reinstall my OS, so now when I reinstalled Firefox the text on it doesn't look as good as it use too, I don't know how to really explain it but you can see a big difference in how the text looks in I.E compared to Firefox now, and before I don't remember the text looking this crappy.  So if anyone knows of why this has happened, or a way to fix it I'd appreciate it because I like using Firefox alot better then I.E, but I'd like the text too look as good as it does in I.E, if anyone needs to see it I'll post screenshots to show the difference.

It's not as dark is it? I had the same issue and posted it here. Never got a clear answer on it.

Yeah, the text doesn't seem to be as dark as in I.E.

You guys know you can hold the control key down, scroll your mouse wheel to easily adjust size in firefox, right?

Firefox does not use clear type like IE.
To enable it right click desktop, properties, appearance, effects, use 'clear type' and tick the box in the 'use the following method to smooth edges'.

That's a nice tip doleboy, and Ghosth's trick helps too, but I have trouble with the lines between some of the threads and posts disappearing. Any answer for that one?
Easy in-game again.

Then you're probably on Vista, in which case Cleartype is turned on by default.  In XP, it is not.

Another thing I notice is everything on my computer just looks better now, the images on the screen just look more crisp now.

One thing I want to ask other Firefox users is, on the AH homepage are all the drop down menus showing in your browsers too, not sure if it's just mine or what because mine was never like this before I had to reinstall Firefox, before when I came to the AH homepage you had to move your cursor over the menu for it to drop down, but now there all just open on mine, or maybe someone knows why mines doing this and what I can do to fix it.
