An idea for Sunday nights
« on: February 09, 2009, 10:12:49 AM »
Lastnight there were lots of people on. Probably alot to due with the end of football in the US. Saw alot of attacks on our bases, unfortuately most were NOE. We are really missing an opportunity to have a better time in here. We have our sandbox and Tonkas, lets do something more with them than bang em together.

Next Sunday when a team outnumbers the others, how about that side selects a mouthpiece and he alerts the other team where the attack will take place. Go in hi alt and gain command of the air, and bomb from high alt. We dont have attrition so altitude separation is the next best thing from keeping the guy you just killed, from killing you again.

Bombers go in high with escort and rtb. Bring in another wave made up of the capture team.

Give the defenders a chance to battle it out. Changing the color of a base from red to green(or whatever colors you use) isnt the game..its the stuff that happens in between that makes it fun.

Every mission I was in was at alt and in-your-face type missions. We went into full dar bars and more. The real tragedy is that we took two consecutive bases while Rooks were cirlcling over head. So NOE's have nothing to do with it. In fact I will bet we would have gotten more resistance if we did some NOE's.

I must Echo getbacks post somewhat.

I ran 4 Missions Last Night and all were at alt we started with a coordinated strike maybe the base was 83 not sure but 2 sets of buffs knocked out the hangars. After they were down we launched flew a sector and half above dar and killed town, closest rook base was only a half sector away about 35 miles. We eventually came in contact with the enemy but i tell you this the rooks came there flying like boneheads all in ponies at 15k if had'nt taken the time to climb to 15k and if you guys had fought we would have never gotten the base all the ponies were more interested in BNZing than defending, we were all low and slow and i still landed 4 kills noone really ever engaged. From there the fight started. I then upped another mission to the next base over climbed to 10k in jabo's i got rid of the 110's and goons was'nt even a capture mission we flew into the teeth of the dar. and again when we arrived there was little or no resistence. I ultimatley died out of boredom because again only a handful of alt monkies came to defend and while we were killing town they were content to occassionally pick someone i ultimately fell for the rope out of boredom due to the lack of interest to engage in a fight. we ultimately took that base also with rooks circling high above.

Now the reason for explaining all this is this, I have heard alot of whines with regard to NOE's tactics and most important fights so i have run mission specifically designed to start fights and give ealy warning we were coming. Now i'm sorry i did'nt realize i should anounce that a mission was coming on 200 i mean after all can't we leave something for you guys to do?
Anyhow the point if you rooks are just gonna fly around in ponies and tempest's and 262's and not engage for fear u might get shot down then i think it is you guys who are defeating the purpose.

Bish like the teamwork and base capture aspect of the game and so do i however i can see the point in starting some fights so i have specifically tried to oblige this with my recent missions and all i've seen is lame donut defense from rooks who are not interested in the fight but interested in getting some kills in a skilless fashion and quite frankly they should be ashamed.

So tonight and Tuesday expect some missions at alt and i will announce them on 200 and there better be defense and engagement, if there is none i will go back to NOE because frankly it saves time.

But most importantly i will not entertain any more whines with regard to NOE's.

In closing i don't remember the names of the guys last night on rooks who defended but i will do my part to help all have fun.
Rooks Please do yours.

Thanks
P.S i just post the missions ultimately the Bish decide how this goes.

Got to say I saw the same getback and Joker saw. My squad didn't join the missions but did go into the same sectors a couple times and all we found were cons circling at 15k-20k. The loud voice of the BBS wanting good fights is the small few of the MA, can't tell you how many times we encountered 51's that took off the sec they must have thought we had evened the fight.

The experience that i have is rooks want to pick and gang and fly fast planes to get away or just never really engage if you guys want fights get dirty too. I'm not a big fan of the lynchmob(just for personal reasons) but i will tell you this they now how to get dirty. Maybe they can give lessons out on how to just plain fight.

On one base capture while troops where running a p51 dove on my f6 (I was pretending to be afk) instead of killing the troops. He had to have seen them I was right by town. I just zigged a little and he went running away.
The next mission a p38 and a spit both with at least 5k of alt over me dove on my heavy f6. I knew they were just kidding so I held onto my ordinance and turned a little and they went back up to the wild blue yonder. Ordinace was delivered. :lol :lol

I have not flown in LW this month yet. I have not flown much at all this month.

I will say that I see what yall are talking about on all teams. The 80th always flies the low number side. Sad to say that many folks just have no idea what their plane can do because they won't actually come down and fight.

The more I think about this the more ridiculous it appears to me. I mean you want us to tell you on 200 we're coming even though radar is there. Do  you want us to tell you what plane type and alt too? Maybe we should file a flight plan with the Rooks.  :rofl :rofl

Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't joker announced on 200 before that we're coming for a base and no one showed.

Nothing beats the thrill of a low speed turnfight lasting 10 minutes, cant experience much of that in a hoarde.  Try it sometime, you might get hooked.

Wow..all I asked was a little alert that a fight could happen before the attack was at the base. Alot of us are busy flying and fighting to watch the map and wonder when the next attack will come. I just asked 1 night a week it would be cool if attacks were announced to allow planes to establish a high alt cap, and have the attack come in high.

Last week I simply saluted u guys when Beef posted the thread that was attacked by many. Id appreciate the same. I dont like the base capture stuff and I feel it gets in the way of how much better the game would be if it was played more for the air combat, than the base ownership. But if its gotta be here, wouldnt it be more fun having the fights start out co alt and ready to battle? I guess if changing base colors is fun then it wouldnt matter.

Once I'm back in the tower I take a look at dar bars, if I think something is headed that way I'll up and let everyone know to watch it and then see what happens from there. Some times I'm at the right place sometimes I'm not. I have a feeling the side annoucing their OTW is going to get jumped by higher Alt cons before they get out of the sector their coming from. Basically what happened to 96Deltas Rook Mission atleast once. I was on the Nit side for that and could tell they got screwed by annoucing it.

As for base capture, I notice some good fights go on where captures go wrong. Of course the guys on the other side might think it's just a furball while the others are fighting for a capture, not that I care either way. I don't know much about whats good for game play but the one thing I do know is base captures aren't going away any time soon. You can alsobe sure there won't be a lack of players that enjoy doing that so you might as well find a way to adjust to them rather than down talk them and tell them their killing game play. After all from what I read on here is the the base capyure guys are easy to kill so i'm not sure what the problem is.
