No Pan View
« on: February 09, 2009, 05:25:58 PM »
I've lost my Pan View.  Strangely enough, it didn't all go at once.  First, pan quit for Aircraft.  Now it is gone for vehicles as well.  No problems with the other two views.

I go to Pan View and get no movement or view changes at all.  Neither the keyboard or hat switch changes the direction of the view.

What do I need to delete?

Wow, funny you should say that.

I came here to find out why I'm getting the same issue, and your post is at the top of the list.

I don't use it much.  Don't use snap ever.  Of course snap still works....

Just thought maybe there was a quick and easy fix someone know about.

Oh well.

Not that I'm aware of.  It didn't all stop at once.  Lost it in planes first.  Pan still worked in gv's.  Now, nothing.  Instant still works, keyboard and assigned hats on the joystick.  Snap works as well.

Just wondered if there was an easy fix without reinstalling?

I know this is stupid to ask, as you seem to know how Pan view works. However did you select a plane to track with the, "Tab" key?

I, personally have tried everything I can think of.

I even un/reinstalled the game.

Is there a way to reset the kb mapping to default?  (kinda like my j/s profile that I keep a copy of)?

It is really starting to chap my bellybutton as I have been on a skinning marathon.  I know the skin viewer is improved, but I still don't think one gets the best perspective with it.  I think it's the best way to really see what the skin looks like from different perspectives.

I fly offline a lot when examining my skins and I (used to) use the pan view mode to get those certain angles for screenines to use for fixes.  Now, I have been forced to use the viewer a lot and paste screenshots into Photoshop, crop them, etc.  It's bothersome, and I don't get to see the pretty scenery in the background, either.    :cry

I tried reassigning the key, changing the key, still no pan.  F7 is normal, F9 is normal, F8 is forward view only, no movement with any input.  The strangest thing I think is that F8 worked for a few months in gv's after it stopped working in aircraft.  It is not working at all now.

Yes, remove the 5 files in the game's 'settings' folder with the "kmp" extension.

What do you mean you tried?  Either you removed them or you didn't.

If your running Vista and installed the game in the default location, then you will not be able to remove the files I listed as you will not be able to find them i the default location.  Vista moves things around without asking or notifying you.

Let me specific.

I removed them, completely.

I do not run Vista.

It did not fix the problem.
