Fri KOTH
« on: February 13, 2009, 04:37:06 PM »
Dogg and I very briefly talked about this earlier... Consider moving it to later in the day. The whole reason for an early KOTH is for a Euro friendly time. But to be honest, not many Euro players have been competing in KOTH/FriKOTH in the last couple years. The ones that do are mostly in Sat KOTH anyways. Moving it ahead a couple of hours should help the numbers.

FWIW.

not by much though  otherwise you might aswell just have the saturday one only,

it is currently at 3pm est i believe?   i think pushing it back 2 hours would be reasonable that would make it 10pm GMT,

We have one suggestion to move it forward and another to move it back.
I'm flexible and am able to adjust time forward or back but moving it forward and backward is a tough request.

Maybe what we could do, one month have it at one time; another at the other time. You can make a choice after whatever time gets more people. Would that work?

And I think for it to catch on it would need to be a certain time opposed to early one week and later the next.
Euro player's, or people who can not attend Saturdays event, are the real opinions we would want and need. After all this time slot is supposedly for them.

I would say that their opinion has been given. The early time slot has been tested. Fri KOTH has been averaging how many people in the last year? Host an event closer to peak hours and you'll get more than a handful of people. The idea of an earlier KOTH for Euros is sound, but due to the turn out Fri KOTH has been getting, I just don't think it's realistic anymore. Hold Friday KOTH when the majority is off work, you'll get more fliers, and make it worth having again.

Slight time change is being considered and cogitated for FriKOTH by the KOTH and CM Team.

In my opinion 4 replies doesn't qualify as they have given their opinion. In fact Bruv is the only non-US player who has spoken up and voiced an opinion. I would really like to see more Euro based opinions as this part of KOTH was specifically for them.
Bruv has requested later and rereading Scotch's first post he asked for both an earlier and later start time, most likely a devious plan to confuse me more than normal.
Hopefully it wouldn't change to a duplicate of SatKOTH as I can see no reason for that, so I can understand a change in start time of 2 or 3 hours but more than that its just a duplicate of SatKOTH again and that was never what FriKOTH was intended for.

Their lack of attending is what I was referring to as giving their opinion. Their lack of posting can also be considered a reply in it's own.

It'd be better to adapt and increase attendance then scrub the whole thing imo.
Even just two hours difference will set it into a time where EST players are starting to get off of work.

Forgive my ignorance of the SEA schedule...  But with two special events arenas now, what about moving EuroKOTH to Saturday?  You could keep it at the same time, or earlier, or later, and still get a much larger turnout.  You might even see a different group of US players (namely, the ones who have a hard time convincing their loving ack why "date night" must be spent hunched at one's computer :D )

Vudak, that is one of the possibilities being cogitated.

Thinking about it some more. Maybe I'll keep the 3pm starting time but just read the rules real slow so the event starts later.

so, I am all moved back to NC< I have finally gotten my PC and just now have finished up plugging in the controllers ( crappy location at the moment - kitchen table ), so do I show up at 3pm est? or wait 30 minutes?   :D
