"Too good"
« on: February 13, 2009, 08:09:30 PM »
This thread is an honest attempt at answering any questions about what you see in these two films, so as to show there's nothing special going on that could warrant suspecting something fishy, and dispel some myths.. The text is removed because the P51 stick breaks rule #7 on channel 200.
Fight #1
Fight #2
To put it bluntly?  The P51 stick's biggest problem is he is too slow on the acm and does not spend his E efficiently. I had plenty of time to see what was coming and set course for each counter evasive and shot. In the first film he is well below effective maneuvering speeds and I can string a couple of expensive moves one after the other without risking much. Second film is different acm but the same sluggish reflexes on his part.
Now, if anyone has questions, I'd be glad to specificaly adress anything surprising about my flying.  It should become obvious to everyone that 1) I didn't even need to do anything special to win these fights, and 2) sour grapes over the better players winning is no excuse, and there are no excuses for, spoiling the best the game can offer (top tier air combat) with obscurantist myths.

Moot...

Is there a point to posting the films? I watched the first and could only say that the 51 driver is in dire need of a few clues. The only "fishy" thing I saw was that you were nearly twice as fast as he was and he allowed himself to be roped.

I didn't bother to D/L the 2nd (the 30 second count down before beginning the download was simply too annoying :)).

This guy accuses me of cheating, repeatedly.  Another guy has been doing it chronicaly each time he sees me in the MA. And apparently the guy in the film is in a squad who also nourishes these accusations.  These accusations are ridiculously bogus and yet they get to survive in hearsay which really spoils it for me and probably gets yet more people on the rumor bandwagon (guy #1's squad apparently are convinced my squad cheats).  Instead of seeing things for what they really are, just plain simple acm.
I could smack talk the guy into silence or report them (and they deserve it, these two guys I'm talking about are in "respected" squads that have been around in AH for a long while) but that's beside the point... This is the best answer I have for all the problems it brings up (I'm not cheating, I get the last word, and it kills the cheating rumor in plain sight of everyone with a little pedagogy on top). Chlorine in the pool.

Hope I didn't break any rules.. <S>

Problem may be that people do not realize the Ta-152 is not a Fw-190. Holds energy alot better through turns.

I came into the Arena reading the accusations on 200 and I was floored at who was doing it.   Now watching the film, I'm wondering where the "1.5k" shot comes into play?   2nd film shows he fired in the HO, missed, and got too slow OTD.

I'm still floored I witnessed this.   But, this was done in good taste, considering what had transpired.

This guy accuses me of cheating, repeatedly.

No problem, bud. You just didn't state that and I saw nothing in the first film to tell me that accusations of cheating were the reason for the post.

As for cheating on your part...if harvesting dweebs is cheating......you stand convicted.  :devil

Yep.  Higher aspect ratio equals lower induced drag.  I believe the 152 has the highest aspect ratio of all fighter in AH.

Lol.  I always just take it as a complement, scoff at them a bit and move on.  I mostly see the accusations when I'm flying under a different name :)
