Has there ever been...?

Just a question:

Has there ever been large fleet on fleet gun battles in Aces High or has simulation followed reality (very few ship to ship gun fights in WW II)? Now before you grab at your holsters I know the game is "Aces High" and NOT "Anchors Aweigh" but since we have cruisers and destroyers and such I was wondering if this was ever a part of the game.

CV groups meet fairly frequently, most I've seen within firing distance of each other was 4.

I've seen plenty of ship v ship battles, but mostly it's ship v LanStuka battles.

We had a Fleet on Fleet gun engagement in an FSO some time ago. It was a lot of fun.  No a/c were allowed to intervene.

Fleet vs Fleet is very rare. Usually its Fleet vs Fleet and LancStukas. I've only been in 1 true Fleet vs Fleet battle before in my 2 years of playing, and it was the greatest fight I ever fought in.

Just had a great fleet vs fleet Wednesday. This of course only lasted until about 30 TBM's lifted off with torps and started sinking the CV. They upped faster than we could shoot them down and they both cruisers (yes this group had 2) before we could even get one of their ships down. We had blast though.

Yes they happen, and when they do you cant find a main gun in the house.....
