Anyone watching the Daytona 500 today?
« on: February 15, 2009, 01:09:19 PM »
Anyone other than me? Any predictions as to who will win? My bet is Tony Stewart or Gordan (even though I don't like him). They said it was supposed to rain out, but they said it's all clear to go. Lets hope so.

Just made it official that Matt Kenseth won it. Supriser, but none the less a good race. I don't think it was as good as the previous years, but it was ok. I was hoping that Tony won it, or Mark, but they didn't. Another suprise was Almendinger, nice 3rd place for him, glad to see him get a good finish.

Stewart is a tool.

Stewart is a great racer, and a great person. As well as a great supporter of the grass roots local level racer. What is commonly known among racers as a "racer's racer". Yes, he's a hard tough racer, that's what you need to be on the track. Yes, he speaks his mind, you don't have to dig too much to get his answers. Just two more reasons to like him.

yawn

I do the same thing when I try to watch all that computerized multibillion dollar F1 BS. I'm not a real NASCAR fan, but I don't consider it to be at all inferior to F1, "Indycar", "champcar", or any of that crap. As far as widely televised motorsports go, NASCAR is better than most, except NHRA drag racing, but then you only see 5% of an NHRA event on TV, and most of it is NOT the best part of the show.

Absolutely.

While I enjoy F1, again Virg hits the nail on the head.   I live an hour away from Milan, MI.   I'm going to be taking my son to some races.   I'm also considering going to the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals in Indy this year.   I live 5 hours from there, can stay with my Uncle in Carmel.
