Agreed.

Sounds like we're in the Furball Area of the DA...

Seriously.  If we are talking Furball Lake, I'd pwn them both in a Ki84 and get a good laugh.  :D

I think I'll answer the question. I would choose the Chog, I know how to fly them more than the spit, and I know what its abilities are. I know that in any type of scissor move, I would be able to out turn him easily, and get more angles. If the Spit gets you into the flat turn on the other hand, the only way to beat that is to gain E, usually by diving (if you have the room), and loop over to try and get the angle again. Most of the time when some guy sees you loop over, he's going right back to your advantage, and that's more sicsoring.

Hope that helps. :)

Being a Spit dweeb I'd say the Spit.  The C Hog is a pig.  The only plane I question whether I should engage or not while in a Spit is the A Hog.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

Depends on who's flying it. The Charlie (actually, any Hog) only needs one shot to end this fight, whereas the Spit needs either a good long burst or will otherwise need to pick away. The I, V and IX's .303s won't be much more than a nuissance, and while the .50s in the other Marks are more of a concern to the F4U, the Spit can't afford to give the 1C so much as a snapshot.

The 1C can't get too slow. He needs to keep the fight faster where he can put his E retention and high-speed maneuverability advantages to use. If he decides to try and put his flaps into play he better be able to close the deal FAST.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Chog, The one plane I don't mind letting the guy I'm diving at get lower on than me. On that first merge there's an open shot, more often than not when i take that shot In -1C the other guy has an oil leak or is missing his elevators.

Depends on your style of flying, chog is good if your patient and "pick" your target more wisely.  I'm impatient, and like a dweeb i usually dive after the first thing that catches my eye like a cat to something shiny.

I'd pick the CHog. but my main ride is the F4U1A so that's an easy choice. but it depend on the pilot. if the pilots good it doesn't matter what plane he 's in. gonna be a fight.

Oddly enough, I was in this situation the other night.  Spitty 16 (knight plane) and my Chog.  The merge was fast at 16k and the spit dove.  I hate to HO, so the first pass was clean.  When we got into it at about 10k the spit tried to keep flat and outturn.  He did a good job.  He probably would've won if I had stayed with him.  A quick dive for E and a rolling reversal put me on his six.  One quick burst did the job, and the spit decided to go KABOOM.  Good fight, but like everything else, it all depends on the driver.
