So alow me to see if I understand what you are looking for here.

You want me to take money away from my family to save for a new computer so that you can get more eye candy. I need to run home and tell my wife and daughter that my priorities have been wrong all this time. Thanks for helping with this issue, I have now seen the light.

Seriously though. you are about to get more eye candy BTW and they are going to make the game just as accessible to those with lower end systems too. WOW what a novel idea.

I have never heard seen someone get on here and whine about HT making the system requirements too high. What I do remember seeing many times is some who remind others that HT tries very hard to make the game playable to the most amount of people this includes those with low end systems. More people that can play equals more people who pay to play, good business on their part.

Even when HT put up the pics of the new terrain the posters with low end systems simply said that if the new terrain causes a further hit to their system they will need to stop playing because right now it is not a good time for them to be spending money to upgrade. I never saw a single one complain or whine about it.

Not trying to be rude here, just trying to get across that many of us have priorities in other areas and many of those that state anything having to do with this subject have simply stated their position and not one time did I read a negative comment from anyone who uses a out dated or weak computer

Its obvious that you have other priority's than upgrading your computer because you have not done it.... I dont give a hoot if you do or don't...... I find it inconceivable how some one can complain about it for 3 years without doing anything about it...... Suck it up and stop complaining that you can't see this or that.......your frame rates are in the toilet.....ect.

Dont take it personal im talking specifically to the complainers. If your not a complainer then dont even bother with a reply.

While I agree that complaining for three years is a bit ridiculous, I haven't seen it happening.
True after 3 years you can get a new computer, true after 3 years something can be done.  However with the shape of the US right now, a lot of people can't afford a new computer.  Gas is going back up (gone up by 30cents in about a week here), lots of people are losing jobs, money is tight.
Yes, it seems like after 3 years they could get new computers, under good conditions, that we don't have.  300$ even for a bare minimum computer is hard right now for most.

I for one, am looking forward to the new terrain here.  I may need to add a little more to my system to make it run pretty, that's  fact.  I'm going to have to do that anyway's, because I enjoy playing other games than this, and any upgrade I make will surely help those games as well.
IMHO, I don't think you should be knocking these guys for taking the game forward.  Oh, and btw, I have a lower end system, and not a big income.  Still, gotta' pay to play.  You will find that is usually the case with most modern games.

If its that bad for someone then the last thing they need to be worrying about is playing a video game. HTC needs to upgrade their graphics and get into the twenty first century. The contrails as an example. I for one would love them but each time its brought up people cry that their computers cant handle it. I'm tired of not having stuff in this game because others cant/wont get a better computer. When my old computer died on me last year I went out and got a simple upgradeable computer for $250. The next week I bought a $50 sound card, two weeks later I got a $130 video card, and two weeks after that 2GB of memory for $120. Now I run the game at 1280x1024 video res with 1024skin res and the slider bars 3/4 up to better graphics and get 40-70FPS.

Since then I have myself a little piggy bank that I put extra cash in just in case this computer dies. Five dollars here and there starts to add up and if you cant upgrade your computer over the years then don't cry that you cant play because of it.

<S>

I am not trying to make anything personal here Firedrgn but my main point is that I havev never read any whines on these boards about the game being too copmicated or anyone ever say that HT needs to keep the game playable to those with lower systems. What I have read were posts that said that is the reason why HT might be keeping some of the asked for features out of the game.

Every single person that has a lower than average computer that I have ever seen respond seems to me to be the type of person that not only appreciates the fact that HT has kept the game playable for them but also would understand if the game ever went beyond what their computer could handle.

HT decides what features they are putting in the game and it sounds as though try to keep a balance between the masses and I personally think they do a good job at that. Look at the new eye candy, that looks freaking awesome, but they also put in a feature that would allow low end users to continue playing as well. To me this is a sign of good business management. You are really playing alow cost game here and in order for HT to continue to do this they will need to keep it playable to as many people as they can and still find a balance of eye candy to keep everyone interested, this is not easy.

Look at it this way, every person that leaves because their system is not up to playing is income lost. To make up for this they would either need to cut back on time spent working on the game, making matters worse or charge each player more and potentially making more leave.

Well I sure ain't whining, this little puppy of a machine has cost over 2K in the past 2 years.  Runs everything I throw at it just fine, I was simply defending the poor guys. :)

Don't you think that maybe HTC makes the decisions on what hardware they will support on things like... Oh I don't know, maybe the hardware their clients use?  I doubt very seriously they aren't tracking how many potential customers they will effect if they raise requirements too high.

Unlike Eve online, where the Devs announced "Hey, we are only going to support SM 3 or higher in November because we think 97% of all computers will be able to support it then" without even knowing how many of their customers will be effected. They got laughed into a retraction, especially when the numbers started rolling in (like Steam's hardware profile showing 57% of all computers using that service were only capable of SM 2 and lower).

Fancy graphics don't make a good game.  The graphics have to be good enough to do the job, but gameplay is what matters.  No one is going to join AH2 just because the ground is pretty.

I haven't looked at the Steam Survey lately, I wonder how it stacks up (Average PC wise) compared to here.  My system runs at a solid 75 (monitor refresh) full blast everything no matter where I am in the game.  Right now I'm playing Bioshock (2007 Game?)  very nice, I know flight Sims demand more when higher textures etc are used because of the wider area is it that the view encompasses but still, I wouldn't mind seeing them turned up a bit.

Hoping the new ground textures and water pretty her up.

BTW I'm on a build about every three years, allmost one year into this one.

My system is top notch, expensive, and bells and whistles all the way.

And I still suck at the game.

Looking back I could have sucked at a much cheaper price. :(

If its about priorities, then when the game upgrades you'll have to prioritize whether to upgrade, or spend time with your family. Pretty simple to me.
