That's more or less what I meant by that, actually. I take sex as something that should help the relationship continue and be a nice show of love. Seems like I've caught all the girls that have the stereotypical "guy" mentality; get the sex and ditch.

No, it's definetley over-rated IMO.  It lost its association with social status/higherarchy for me quickly after High School.  Yeah when I was much younger and didn't have that status I strived to achieve it, but upon achieving it I was quickly disapointed that it wasn't "all-that".  Maybe I was too young when I did first have it and because of my youth back then I was expecting it to be more than what it simply was.
