Transmitting Problems? And small Freezes?
« on: February 20, 2009, 10:32:37 AM »
I have down loaded AMD 1.1.4 Optimizer and I have Ironed out most of the problems I was having since My video card took a dump( missing desktop game Icons Exc... ). I have also tried running the Game on One CPU, or running in Windows 98/2000, and even checked my Internet connection. But I'm still having some problems when going into a new Arena as well as Transmitting voice!
      1. When I first enter a new arena it takes awhile for the FPS to settle( a longer time then usual) As well as when that's done settling when ever a new enemy con comes into view the game freezes just for a spit second. This two through the course of playing starts to settle down!
      2. The second Problem is when Ever I transmit my voice I get a freeze or a frame rate drop. It drops from a constant 75FPS to sometimes 50FPS which is enough to disturb your flight or get you shot down? I also am told that no matter how high I turn up my MIC its hard to hear me.

Can anyone help with ideas for these two problems! I'm still learning Computer skills.... So please help in dummy terms Thank you:)

I've been scanning the forums and found some answers but Nothing that I'm sure will work or if its same problem! I can't believe know one out there has never had this same problem? Maybe I just smell funny Lmao J/k! Well NE way hope to hear something from someone soon. Is there any video Settings/folders or sound setting/folders I should look at? Is there a possibility that it is my Norton 360 that is causing it?

I'd turn the sound acceleration down to 3/4 (75%) Its full up now.

What are you prelaoding in the game? textures and skins, or just textures?
What texture are you running on?

I'll try turning it down.... As well I'm running Hires pack 1024x768 also Currently I'm running Enable loading of custom skins! That I know could hinder performance. But before when I ran all the same settings and installed AH on this new computer a month ago. I didn't cause any problems at all. Unlimited FPS. Other then that all game setting at default. ATI card on Basic CCC highest setting. (Again no problems when doing those same settings the first time around)

One small tidbit I usually check for is this: Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor
Try and find the correct '.inf' files for your specific monitor and install them, I think those are the ones you need.
Not sure if it will help anything but it is a small thing I noticed.
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

The skins might be doing it. They add more every now and then so it might have pushed you over the top.  I'd stop preloading the skins. One other thing, if you have the auto film set up, I'm not sure when it starts filming, because I don't use it. I do know that if you have over 100 films in the film folder it will start giving you a pause each time you start to record a new film.

Not the auto load for the skins. When the game loads up, click video settings. Make sure the skins pre-load isn't checked.

You should be able to preload textures.

The onboard soundcard probably aint doing you any favours here, and may have something to do with the pauses. Get an aftermarket dedicated soundboard. I think it may help your problems.

That's what I'm thinking. Also make sure that your hardware acceleration is at 3/4 in dxdiag.
