It's a suitable parable to this matter.

Would you mind clarifying the Babel effect for those of us that are not as religious? :)

The tower of babel was built to reach the heavens, at a time when everyone spoke the same language.  God found it blasphemous that man could pretend to reach his height, so he threw a wrench in the works by making everyone speak different languages.
p.s. If I may say so.. You should read the Bible even if you're not religious (I'm not).  It's a landmark in literature.

Spanish 109 cockpit.

P47D40 cockpit. The more modern instruments are due to this being a flyable bird.

Or perhaps something similar to how a car's MPH instrument is, have both MPH and KPH. Do this for all instruments relevant to the problem such as Speed, Alt, Etc. As far as the E6B goes perhaps have the Metric system in parentheses beside the Imperial readings. Doesn't seem too bad, I mean we already have certain things in Metric such as gasoline and bomb weights on planes that it is appropriate for. Don't take offense to this but I would imagine the Imperial readings would still remain dominate, since I think the majority of our player base is American.(though I could be wrong.)

I have read it, family is religious, I never bought into it though.  I knew that story, just somehow slipped my mind.  :)

ATA on the Bf-109G-14 anyone?!? Who in god's name decided to put the bloody thing BEHIND the gunsight?!?

Forget the instruments..... the frigging cannon ammo counter being behind the stick is far more annoying.

The MG and cannon need to be swapped.  :aok

Be nice if there was a way to switch between Standard and metric instruments in the cockpit, fair for all.

HTC personally knocked me back on that.

Bloody yanks and your ridiculous, archaic system of measurement.  :lol

Seriously, fractions of an inch to measure spanners and the like.... who the hell thought that would be a good idea?  :huh Just hold on while I grab my 9/16 spanner. Bloody hell.

The really annoying thing is that your stupid, stupid measurements are in silly sizes too. A 9/16 spanner is a little bit smaller than a 14mm spanner, so if you don't have a set of spanners in imperial sizes and you get stuck with a nut that is an imperial size, you're in for a world of rounded nuts and a lot of cussing.  :furious You bastids.

Suck it up and switch your whole country to metric and join the rest of the world in the land of easy measurement.  :aok  :lol

^ That wasn't a dig at anyone.... just playin' with y'all.

It's just a number.  It doesn't matter what unit it is, only that you can use it like any other tool that fits the purpose.  Seeing the exact revs on a car doesn't matter, nor what unit they are in.  You can hear and feel what's going on and at worst you turn the rev meter so that redline is at 1 oclock.  The units don't matter, the engine character does.
