don't worry, the blu-ray player it has is a weak one. My DVD player automatically tries to pump up the DVD out-put (don't remember what the technical name for it is) and the picture quality is about as good as the PS3 blu-ray. Save your pennies and buy a good blu-ray player if you really want a blu-ray player. Buy a PS3 if you really want a PS3   :)

It was true with the PS2 and yes, a stand alone Blu-Ray player will be BETTER than the PS3.

There is nothing else like the wii. It''s interactive with the sensor bar and all.

perfect for kids and wives.

Word.

Wife picked one up and she plays it more then the kids do.
Its the only one of the game machines she has ever played

Also it has boxing.
Which enables you to beat the crap out of your wife. Without the jail time and expensive divorce.
And she'll like it!

AND
Trust me. if she wants the Wii
Get her the wii
getting her something else will only piss her off

NO...not THOSE kinda toys  :devil

My wife says I can play AH to my hearts content if she can get herself a Nintendo Wii. Knowing nothing about game consoles I thought I'd get opinions about Wii vs Playstation and XBox 360. Opinions please?

Thanks

man your lucky if that is all it cost you, my wife said its either her or the game......I sure am going to miss her :D

We have small kids so I chose her over the game. And I'm pretty sure I'm happier that way - especially now that I can play the game anyway I just don't spend all my free time on it like I used to.

The wii is by far the best if you are not into graphics.
Wii sports is awsome along with cooking mama
the best bet is the wii for other reasons great golf games as well !!

It's been said several times but let me repeat.

Get her what she wants!

That said I have the 360 and picked up the wii last summer and gave it to my kid for Christmas. While not as good graphically speaking as the 360 or my PC, the whole family has a blast playing wii sports and Mario cart. My son and I play several games together quite frequently which imo is great quality time in when combined with the otherwise standard father son outings, projects, etc. Not sure if you have kids or not ( sounds like not ) but this could translate to time with your wife that you enjoy too ( not looking at antiques or what ever ).

Additionally, the wii has a pretty nifty browser for grabbing news, and weather...
