That is not a radiator below the fuselage but the turbocharger.

And if you take that position, you could just as easily say that the Mustang borrowed design ideas from the Hurricane.

It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Careful Angus, somebody will turn up a picture of a rare FW-190Cbp. ;)

I just read a book about the 190D series.The engineers were not to happy with how it came out calling it a Kangaroo.The test pilot Hans Sander said it was unstable in climb,impossible to trim and a tendency to snake at altitude.This was after the plane almost killed him on landing!He considered the aircraft a complete failure.

The 190C seems like it would have been interesting.
