You mean rescue the pilot, right? The PBY wishlist addressed using it in such a way. As for two other possibilities that I have frequently heard, "I wish....." for: 1) Rearm pad at vehicle bases. 2) Repair for damaged plane in hangar at airfield (less probable)
In a WWII infrantry game called Chain of Command, they input a medic who was a player who went out to rescue wounded infantrymen and had to carry them back to within a certain area. This did not return that player to battle but helped the rescued player's and team stats.
