disable spawncamping shots
« on: February 25, 2009, 06:45:49 PM »
Its getting me highly  :furious p***ed off with these damn spawn camping ***holes. Your getting up off the run way and out of nowhere some random group of fighters HO you and tail you when your still on the ground.

Scene Play:

*engine starts*
*boom*
System:You have been killed by a flying ***hole.

God, it just angers me. They wait until their friendlies clear the sky and then they come to camp you sense they know if you got a chance to turn on one of them they'd get blown to bits.

HTC Please put a spawn shield until the aircraft is OFF the ground.

Expecting the game to compensate for your poor choice of field to take off from is rather silly, wouldn't you say?

Take off from a different field and kill the low and slow vulchers. Problem solved.

Number one, what you've described is "vulching", not spawn camping.

Number two, here is an almost 350 reply debate on that subject, with the opposition point of view.

Number three, take a listen to HT's thoughts on vulching

Fields are adequately protected by gguns if you have let the enemy atrit them then you deserve the outcome.

I suppose taking a position in a GV that targets an airfield ac spawn point is also spawn camping.  However if an airfield has let its defences drop to a point where this is achieved then they deserve the outcome. The field is under attack from GV's and losses will be incurred.

Re spawn camping Gv spawns (other than hanger spawns) my view is this is still gamey although an unavoidable result of remote GV spawns.

Vulching is boring.  I can't think of any more pointless way to spend time playing the game.  Sometimes I find myself on the winning side of a furball and we end up over the enemy's base, and then you hear
"let's deack it!"  They do, and suddenly the field is swarming with cockroaches.

That's not to say I've never vulched. ;)

Last night in Blue some of us went down to A40 (or is it 19?) to get out of the Rook horde, and we found someone I recognize as a two-weeker constantly upping in a 190F-8 while Rooks vulched him (I know he's a two weeker because he nearly killshot himself on me the other day, and doesn't respond to any communication).  I said "watch, I'm going to fly in front of him after he takes off.  Let's see what he does."  So I drop my throttle, dive down and put him on my 6 as he takes off, hoping for some entertainment, but the other guys 3-4 all dropped on him at the same time and shot him down.

I think you should always let them get their gear up. Letting get gear up gives them hope...and nothings more fun than dashing hope. :devil

It happened in real life too.  Do you think aircraft flew over enemy fields going "look at all those pretty fighters down there.  Let's let them get off the ground so we have a good fight".

My most recent favorite incident is catching two airplanes wheels up, on opposing runway headings, and catching them both with the blast radius of a single rocket.  Tell me that's easy :)

The only thing more satisfying than shooting chutes in AH is vulching.  Vulching is like AH's version of the Darwin Awards.

Hello FYB,

The day I decided to not quit AH forever was the day I decided to never up from a capped field again.  Do not feed the vultures Sir, up from a field over or in a AA vehicle and save yourself the annoyance.

Have a great day,

Way
