nicknamed the porcupine for armament and octagon style frame which gave it great durability

many of you might disagree but i think that we really could use a flying boat...
and if we ever get one, can we get a option to taxy em off the docks that the Pt's sail off from at the ports... very simple

The standard Sunderland had ten 303s in three turrets, with the option of two 303s or 0.5 in guns in the side hatches. A few crews also fitted four fixed 0.5 in guns in the nose for strafing U boats. It turned very tightly for its size, using its very effective flaps. In RL it was mostly up against big long range LW aircraft like Ju 88s or Condors which it could outmaneuver. However a slow, mostly 303 armed aircraft it is not going to be very survivable in the MA.

The Catalina would be a better flying boat to introduce. Although not any more survivable it would have a lot more scenario potential. It was used by the US, the British and the Soviets and far more widely than the Sunderland. It carried torpedoes as well as bombs and depth charges and later versions were amphibious.

For the MA a flying boat could be enabled at ports which would give it some sort of reason for being used as opposed to a land based bomber. A conventional early war twin engined bomber like a He111 or similar would be more useful scenario-wise though.

While not particularly realistic, another use for flying boats could be to re-supply damaged Task Groups. Details would have to be worked out, of course, since the TG never stops.

The most MA useful flying boats to add would be the Coranado or the H8K2 'Emily'.

And beer bottles.  I kid you not, beer bottles was a common 'ordnance loadout' for the Black Cats on their night time harassment missions.  Any plane that carried beer bottles is a must in AH.

I'd still ove to see them work out a way that pilots can be picked up with aircraft and vehicles, would make a/c like the PBY useful for scenarios and would add a new use for the PT boat.
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

They were empty ones, mind you :aok
The empty bottles would plumit down and make a terrible whistling noise IIRC (if that's not enough, you wouldn't want one falling on your head either!)
