And one tank...

Sherman M4A3.

Put the short 75mm on it and you can cover the early war just fine.  Put the 76mm on it and it becomes the Easy 8 and covers the late war in conjunction with the short 75mm models.  All it takes is a swapout of the gun and you have two tanks that allow all western front Special Events to be done on the ground side without fudging the tank set.  Economical and manpower efficient on the HTC side.

(P.S.) Panther please.  :aok

Yak-1
LaG-3

You're missing the counterpart German fighters for these two.

Not at all, both LaGG-3 and Yak-1 fought pretty late into the GPW. And 109E-4 is a good sub for the E-7 just like F-4 is and ok sub for the F-2. Earlier 190 would of course be a nice addition.

Respectfully disagree.

Substitutions are the bane of every AH scenario or FSO, and are only satisfying when the aircraft they are subbing for had something irrelevant to the game, e.g. cockpit pressurization, improved radio equipment, etc.

Edit:  So far as I can tell both were fighting in 1941 alongside the I-16.

Only real difference between F-4 and F-2 (when thinking of the easter front) is 75PS in power. Just like between E-7 and E-4. And like I said, Yak-1 and LaGG-3 were still well in the game when LW was already flying F-4s and G-2s, which we do have in the game. The likely Yak-1 will be the later b-version anyway.

...and subvariants of them were still on strength in 1944. These planes were both flown in combat a number of years. Last LaGGs (series 66) came off the production line during 1943.

So saying that we don't have the LW contemporaries for these planes is simply factually incorrect no matter how much you want to disagree with me.

EDIT/That said, I would of course welcome 109F-2 and 109E-7 and 190A-3 for example. I just think that getting them any time soon is highly unlikely./EDIT

The F-2 had a MG 151/15, not a MG 151/20.

When you originally said "fought late in the GPW" I didn't get the meaning you intended, sorry.

But I still disagree with you when say that the F-4 and G-2 alone would be sufficient for having the Lagg-3 and Yak-1 contemporaries. ;)  Sufficient for some of its contemporaries, but not for a complete GPW planeset, because your argument has a symmetry on the Luftwaffe side:

While the Lagg-3 and Yak-1 fought late into the GPW, the 109E-7 and F-2 fought alongside the 109 models that replaced them for a significant duration of time.

The F-2 had a MG 151/15, not a MG 151/20.

At the start of the Barbarossa all F-2s had their MG 151 weapons quickly replaced by the MG 151/20. That's why i said: "when thinking of the easter front".

It totally depends on the subvariants. Like I said, if a later LaGG-variant and a Yak-1b are added then F-4/G-2 are totally compatible.

Again, the only difference is +/-75PS, some compromises have to be made. It's pretty clear that right now LaGG-3 and Yak-1 would help the eastern front planeset more than 109F-2 or E-7.

On that point I totally agree, but adding variants of aircraft we already have should be so easy compared with adding something new.  My guess as to why we don't have more variants is that HTC does not want to confuse new players in the main arena.
