Before I switch into finnish - this is an announcement that there has been lots of discussion among the finnish WB players of establishing a registered society for the Finnish online sim pilots.

Terve pojat!

Suomalaiset WB-lentäjät ovat kovalla kiirellä perustamassa otsikon mukaista yhdistystä. Suunnatkaa uutisryhmään alt.Warbirds.finns palvelimella  news://news.1st-acg.com  ja lukekaa itse.

Hienoa!

I'm all for a registered society of Finnish players.  When the great hunt begins... we'll know just where to go.

Muahahaha!

I wish that I could find a way to learn at least basic Finnish.

Alas, it is nigh impossible to find Finnish language classes.

Lesson No. 1:
Tank=Tankki

btw:
It's our independence day:
Long live our beautifull country!

This is our State flag;
As you can see the Finnish lion is watching to the west, holding a western type sword and is "Dancing" over eastern style sword. Just little more some non-usable information

Experience has taught me that three words will bring you far: Kertolasku, Jakolasku and Allelasku! Throw in a Paska! or Perkele! Now and then and it will be absolutely perfect

Well ... I will try to be serious again. Its in times like this I envy the finnish players, for beeing so many. I dont understand why nobody have made a sim about the Finnish airwar. There should be enuf of entusiastic simmers to make a solid customer base.

I should probably let the Suomi dudes answer your last question Straffo... but anyway AFAIK Finnish is very much related to hungarian. For me it also sound very close to the language spoken in the three Baltic countries Letland, Estland and Lithauen (cant remember the english names for them), but I dont know about that.

oh allmost forgot...

Straffo,
Estonian, and Hungarian are the closest languages to finnish. The Estonian is very close. Some ingenious dialects in Karelia, and neighboring areas are close also. And you are right, language scientists tell me that the Basque is indeed of VERY distant relation to finnish.

Duck, Well, no :-) We're not moving into AH, but the society would be useful for the generic activies of the finnish virtual pilots community.

AKDejaVu, you might notice the roles reversed in about... 10 seconds. ;-)

R.y:stä on todettu olevan hyötyä esimerkiksi Mosquito Meetingien ja muiden tapahtumien järjestelyissä, joten rempaistiin nyt idea ilmaan ja vauhdilla etenee. Taidetaan saada helmikuinen Blitz coni jo yhdistyksen nimiin

Japanese also appears to be distantly related to Finnish.
