New skins downloading

.. again and again.

I log on, get them by auto-download. Can use them fine (for example the new TA 152 skins). Quit the game.
When I log on again, it's as they never had been there, download starting all over. No anti-vir software running.

Is the "skins.res" file marked read-only?  The TA-152H skins are all updates.  Are the ones in your "skins" folder marked read-only?

Just guessing here as I cannot duplicate the problem.

Hmm strange. Just logged in again. No surprise, the Ta 152 skins are red again. Looking into my skins folder, there is only 1 TA skin at all: ta152H-2.res.
Now after some time I get message: "ta152_1.res downloaded". I check folder: Yes, there it is. Not write-protected, nothing special. Can select it in hangar, too.
I quit game. Still in folder. I start game again & go online - The file is gone.
Using XP SP2 btw. Never had this problem before.

Edit: Getting even stranger. I just downloaded ta 152H_4.res manually from webpage. Put it into skins folder. Start game - nada. All TA skins still red, even though the _4.res is still in folder. It also doesn't get deleted when I leave game like it does with the ones I got via auto-download. It's simply not there for AH.

Check the "skins.res" file and see what date the file has on it and the size.  Check to see if it is write protected.

The TA-152H skins are all updates and they would be removed if you downloaded them from the server.  I have gone ahead and removed the old ones from the server.

Nevermind!  Just remove the "skins.res" file from the skins folder.

Not related to Ta 152H-1 skins but I keep receiving p38j_1 skin over and over.

When I log in the only red skin for P-38Js is the 479FG/435FS by Oboe.
My p38j-1 res file is dated 11/4/2008 2:46pm and file size is 299kb and not marked read only.
I do have autodownload skins in background enabled.

Ok, that P38J skin has had a bug since the last release as there were no P38J skins released in this batch.  I'll get it fixed.

i still get the P-38 bug. I am on vista. any resolution to this

It was fixed yesterday.  You should have only gotten it one more time after the arena reset for Titanic Tuesday.

I just checked my file and it was checked read only.  Mine was not down loading automatically either.  Thanks Skuzzy
