add a airstrip to factory's
« on: March 05, 2009, 05:59:15 PM »
I would like to see a small air strip put next to factory's and the city with 2 fighter hangers and the ability only to spawn fighters

and make the factory's capture-able

I think it would add a new thing to fight over, instead of factory's just being a place to pad scores with

forgive me for my writing

I just want to see somthing done with them, there only purpose now seems to be for padding scores once they get behind the lines

What does this have to do with airstrips?  Heh, back to the drawing board.

Go kill the milk runners then. No point in having an airfield right on the Strat most smart players who are padding scores won't be flying in at 200 feet. They will be coming from aways off & likely at some height in most cases every strat there is on any map has an airfield with in a sector or two. Time to get to altitude & gun them down if you keep watching the clip board map it is very easy to tell what is going to happen.

Ho yes, nothing quite like hunting down milk-running dweebs.

Ya know, the Bf109G-14, Bf109K-4, and the Spitfire Mk14 all climb like a crazy, I suggest that the next time a milk runner goes anywhere near a strat target you up one of those three and get there ASAP.  You'd be surprised at how often you successfully intercept and destroy.

manned flak-88s at strats. I do like the idea of making them capture-able, give them a bit more purpose.

Strats are capturable, indirectly.  Capture the zone base and you get the strats with it.

The problem with capturable strats in themselves is there would be no way to defend them once you did capture them.

Have to forgive grizz, hes unable to put into words what hes thinking.

But yeh sounds like a fun idea, but perhaps the factory's should remain without airfields and just be capturable...?

Factory + Fighter Hangar = Base

Sorry, I could divulge into a long paragraph as to why this is a bad idea, but it should be self explanatory, I don't feel like taking the time.

But yeh sounds like a fun idea, but perhaps the factory's should remain without airfields and just be capturable...?

Do you think you're the first one to come up with the idea that factories should be capturable?  Even the 100th one?  There's a multitude of reasons why it's set up the way it is and once again, not worth taking the time to explain it.
