My newest toy
« on: March 05, 2009, 07:47:32 PM »
This is the AR-15 that I picked up today at Appalachian Armory.

It is made by "Yankee Hill".
Has a callapsable butstock,  sight rail which I put a carry handle on that has adjustable sights.
Overall it is a pretty nice rifle and I like it a lot.

Very nice, fun guns.  I had a Rock River Arms that I put an EoTech on.... Loved that gun.

Have you bought a case of ammo for it yet?

I just wonder why these "plinkers" are still so popular now that .223 ammo cost so much.

I mean no offense, I just wonder what made you pick this over something with a bigger more useful, and much cheaper round?

It was what my gunshop had, plus I could just put a new upper on it if I need.

How much did it run ya after the trade in?

Considering taking my Mosins in :)
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Thats a really sexy looking weapon. I think the only time I'm likely to fire one in this country was in the Nintendo64 classic 'Goldeneye'. Was it designed before or after the first M16 assault rifle?

Praise aside, dont you guys think you should have tried making a new looking weapon at all? youre army is basically using the same modded version of the rifle you used before vietnam! :D

i would love to fire that Ar15.
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

if you disassemble the entire trigger assembly your gunna have 2 springs  one that goes to semi and one to 3 round burst,

Obviously you are confused as to what type of weapon is being talked about here. This is a civilian AR-15, there is no select fire for 3 round burst. Converting a semi auto civilian AR-15 to full auto is nearly impossible without a machine shop and a lot of knowledge and time.

I guess this shows just because you "carry one nearly every day" doesn't qualify you as a gunsmith. There are a lot of people who carry guns every day and don't know their butt from a hole in the ground. (Around here we call them "police" :D ).

Only the ones that voted for Obama my friend.

Independent dependents.  You know the ones.  They talk tough, act the fool - yet rely on that welfare check and $ from others.

Sickens me.  Then the people that really need it can't get it because they are professional couch potatoes who know how to work the system because they are too sick to fight.
I was so happy when gas was $4 a gallon.  Kept the scum off the roads.  Now it's back to 1.5 hour commute home for me.

*steps off soapbox*

Back to the gun, very nice.  Don't make it auto but knowledge of how to do so is not illegal (yet I believe).  Doing so will take that from your right to a felony.  Not worth it imo.
