Meeting a Legend
« on: March 07, 2009, 05:14:28 PM »
I went to my first Detroit Autorama (oldest Hot Rod show in the Country) ever.   I've always wanted to go, but never was able to.

I spoke with Chip for about 5 minutes.   He signed our sons Ford GT (which he helped design).   Long story short, the line was about 3 hours long.   Ian (7 yrs old) wanted to get a car from the displays we passed to get there.   Wife leaves, comes back with him holding this car.

It's rare that someone as Legendary as Chip, will take the time to simply ignore everyone else around him and talk.   We chatted about his new P-32 roadster which has B-17 seats and is homage to the 38.   He's a class act and Ian loved it too, they talked a little about cars.
