it wasn't crashed. he landed it perfectly safely. i'm sitting next to a guy that works there now. the pilot flying it is the maint. guy. it burned after it rolled to a stop on the runway.

there's an article in the courier post in nj. you can find it online.

it's ashame, because this was a beautiful airplane(i've seen it at several shows), and the owner has several other beautiful warbirds, including a b25, f4u, and a spitfire(i don't know which mark)

I went with some friends to the Millville airshow back in September. Its a shame to see such a nice aircraft destroyed in a accident.

you know dam straight i'm there this year!

he's flown the corsair over my shop in cherry hill a couple of times....i missed his "low approaches" at south jersey regional.......

from what i'm told, he simply wrote a check for it(i think he got the corsair 3 years ago), and the same for the mitchell. until he got the mitchell, he was flying them out of red lion.

beautiful aircraft.....thanks for posting them dude!

That was a silly correction cap, the whole story was with the link I posted.

well, yes and no......
it definitely was not a shot at you. it just pisses me off that as far as the media is concerned, if something happened to it, it crashed. they TRY to make people afraid of things. as it is, i hve to hear from all of my non-flying friends, and of course, at 47, mom still calls me every single time she sees or hears anything about a crash. like she thinks i'm gonna stop flying because of it.

anyway, if you took any offense, there was none intended dude........
