Youngest daughter plays snare in the high school marching band and a kit at home. She also plays keyboard, piano and guitar.

Played the trumpet thru my junior year in college. (was actually ranked #2 in the state in HS at one time) Anyway, I decided that having to play 5 days a week for 1 lousy credit hour at a school that offered no music minor while trying to complete an engineering degree was bullsh*t. So I put the horn down, grew a moustache and never looked back.

More or less the same...minus the #2 ranking, engineering degree, and mustache   :aok

I always liked playing jazz the most, but some of our wind ensemble tunes were phenominal.

Cool :aok  I played a lot of Brass Ensemble stuff before I quit. E-flat cornet was a blast... always felt like I was on PBS.  :lol

We actually had a Materials Science professor who played the bag pipes; Kilt, the whole nine yards. :D  We used to do concerts with the guy.

Oh, and get this: The #1 trumpet player in school was a EE who was working on his PhD. The guy had no fingers on his left hand! Used to twirl his horn with it. And that sucker could play! :rock Made me feel like a lightweight.

Hmmm how did he use his first and third tuning slides?  Or did he pitch down entirely with his mouth?

I think my favorite song I ever played in an ensemble was probably Brecker Bro.'s "Some Skunk Funk."  We didn't quite play it at full speed, but quite close.  Tower of Power tunes were always fun too.

I played taps every night at the camp where I worked for years...only real use I ever got out of my horn outside of school or college related groups.  A couple buddies and myself almost started a Ska group, but it never came to be.

He did it entirely with his lip. Very impressive horn player. Of course, that guy spent a lot of time way up beyond High-C, so he was used to it.

I used to make a little extra money playing Taps at funerals. Always felt a little bad about getting paid for it though.

lol... well, here we go...
Trombone, guitar (Ibanez GRx20 electric [had a Gibson Billy Joe Sig Series Les paul, but that kinda, well, long story], Jasmine by Takamine acoustic), drums (including mallet percussion [ie vibraphone, xylaphone etc...]), bass guitar, piano, and I'm wanting to learn alto/tenor sax, flute and trumpet. (:
