How could they be made really useful in a game like Aces High?

IMO in any role they can perform, a land-based plane can probably do better.

Anyone got any ideas on how to make them a worthwhile addition?

Well, in the case of the Japanese, their best bomber was a flying boat.  The H8K2 Emily was tough, well armed and carried a decent loadout.  How many other Japanese bombers can make all of those claims?

Once the terrain editor is released a seaplane could be used in a pac style map just as effectively, maybe more so than a land based a/c, and what big runways u'd have

But would the water always be smooth as glass...

Has HT considered a seaplane addition at all?

Think first the water would, uh have to be more waterish?    Btw,has anyone else noticed the island in the western sea? Landed my C-47 and kicked the drunks out the door. When I exited it was a "capture"  hehe

I think a big advantage seaplanes SHOULD have in a Big-Pac style arena like Air Warrior 3 had would be that it should be able to take off and land from Harbors/Navy bases and not just airfields. Like now tanks and other vehicles could go from "garage" bases.

Know whut'a meen Vern?

Troop landing's
Torp drops, mines, search and rescue, scenario additions, Recon, transports. The list is endless. We need sea planes. To be honest we need everything that is original and not just something another flight sim has.

PBY's would be nice for fire directing the 16 inchers of a Battleship

PBY could carry quite a bit of ordinance for anti-shipping under the wings, and the ability to fly from  harbors and such would be nice. The later models with the .50's in the observation blisters, and the nose turrent would be great. I'd much rather see a Sunderland tho

A Kingfisher, PT-22 Seaplane mod, and the Original N1K seaplane would be nice single engines.

The main roll would be anti-shipping. But for that we need ships fellas
Then we need the ships to have a roll in the game more than just a thing to land on. They have to have more than just 1 or 2 groups per team. They really have to make a difference. Then and only then will the sea plane be useful. VERY Useful
