Its not stealing I live in close proximity to a college, which offers free wireless and I am a student "not stealing"
Your verbage and word choices are "suspect". Phrasings like "a college" not "my college" and "I am a student" not "I am a student THERE". Your word choices do not show ownership of the internet connection, so you probably don't own/pay/shouldn't be using it.
Your initial statment " I pick up unsecured wireless internet " doesn't 'jive' with you being a student at a school that provides free internet to their students and you are using it legally.
A Universities internet is NOT (99.99% of the time or more) an unsecured wireless network, so I don't believe you are using the schools connection DIRECTLY. I am hard pressed to believe that any school in the USA offers 100% free unsecured wi-fi to anybody that wants to use it that happens to live in the general area of said school. They wouldn't (and couldn't afford to) give out free bandwith to anybody and everybody that happens to live nearby. Not gonna' and doesn't happen. That whole premise is rediculous.
I bet you do live near a college, and it does offer internet to it's students. You are probably login' onto some students unsecured wi-fi and using their connetion to the universities internet. I bet that is also why you are so blase about your connection and don't want to contact Skuzzy to help "fix" it because it's not yours, and you shouldn't be using it.
Prove me wrong. Give me the name of the University and I will happily call their IT dept. and see if they offer free unsecured wireless internet to the community that lives near the campus.
