Manual Bombing Calibration

I would like to know if you can practice Manual Bombing Calibration in the Training Arena.
I need to help some squadies learn the manual calibration.

By default it is set to MA standard, but...Yes, any of the trainers can change that arena setting so your squad/group can practice.  Just tag one of us if we are on, or give us a heads up on the timeframe you plan on practicing.

We would be practicing Friday 3-20-09 from 21:00 to 22:30 EST.
That would be great if one of the Trainers could set it up for us.

You can always load up the TA map offline and make a few arena settings changes.

 was also looking to train the manul calibration for our squad    thursday 3/19/09  8-10 pm cst if you can turn it on please      also  will it compensate for wind when you use manual calibration

I'm confused, by "MA" do you mean "Main Arena"  and by "standard" do you mean the calibration method/procedure that we go through now by folloiwng the written instructions when in the bombadear (F6) position.  My question is, if it's set by default; what needs to be changed?

Manual calibration is the "old" way of calibrating the bomb sight before "easy mode" calibration was introduced.  Instead of just holding a key to calibrate, you actually have to hold the cross hairs of the bomb sight on a specific point of your choosing for a specified time.

I imagine the settings need to be changed from "easy" to "old".

Yes, by "MA standard" I mean the settings as you encounter them in the main arenas.  As wrongway mentioned the MA's are set to "easy" bomb calibration.  With "easy" disabled, you have to go through the extra step of using your controller to hold the crosshair on a fixed point on the ground while holding the Y key.  Long ago, that was the part of the calibration process in the MA.  The harder method is still used in special events and AvA at times.

Neither method compensates for wind layers.

When in offline mode, click

Options - Arena Setup - Environment - Arena Settings

Scroll list down until you find FlightModeFlags. Open it and uncheck "Auto Calibrate Bomb Sight".

Your bombsight should now be in old manual mode. You can see this by looking at the instructions top left corner after getting into calibration mode.

AVA has the old bomb site also, talk about a surprise the first time.
