If you get a bone and have it for more than 4 hours seek immediate medical attention.   :O
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

But he's a pro, so HTC should do things his way.   I personally don't want to see a WIP.

Naa.  I don't claim to know anything.  In fact I KNOW I don't know anything.

Lets stick to the facts.
1. Have there been customer requests for a routine (non sporadic) updates on what they are working on? Yes
2. Can HTC do this in a way that does not burden them? Yes

Will they? No one can answer this.

I wanted to state the request on this in a factual way so we all could engage in a dialog poking at it with our pointy little minds.  Curious to see what it exposes both in people and practices.  When presented with facts some run to "beliefs" that cannot be substantiated.  Some deny the facts.  Some see what is there rather than their projection or not - what do I know.

Yes and there have also been requests for the B29, pilots screams when on fire, radio station that play music, tinted windows, the double mustang, the Sabre jet, cannons for non cannon planes as a" field mod", no fighter towns, the bombers, no base capture, no strats, more strats and on and on and on. There have been many requests, some quit ridiculous, but just because it was requested doesn't mean it MUST BE DONE.

Maybe, not yes. You have no idea of there schedules, work loads, business plan. From the number of response I've seen from HT of the years (pre spellcheck  :D ) I get the impression that he doesn't like watermelon chat. To me he seems to be all business, and that business is writing code, not doing PR work. He also worked on Warbirds before he moved on to Aces High. Maybe he's a bit "gun shy" about giving out information due to how things evolved over there, who knows. I do know that when they are ready they give out information, and not before.

This is the easiest one to answer !!! YES ! they will, WHEN THEY ARE READY !

Yes people have asked for update information..... many times... I too think it would be kinda cool to be "in the loop", but when it all comes down to it, it really is none of OUR business, and all about HT's business.

Slade you wouldn't have any argument at all if you'd been around back when we had 2 or 3 times as many updates to the game.

You say this after saying that you don't claim to know anything.

True

Can HTC spend 5 minutes every month to give us an update?

Though it seems highly probable, we have to answer this as: It is unkown.

I stand corrected (once again).  :salute

They are under no contractual obligation to keep us informed that I am aware of.  To suggest that they should do this or defend that they don't are, pardon the pun, moot.

So the only fact that is provable it seems is that though customers have asked for this it is not occurring (routinely\monthly).

This entire thread seems like much ado about nothing to me...

The way I see it, the Original Poster simply asked for HTC to give us a hint or update or whatever you'd like to call it.  He asked without whining.  Without demanding some right as a paying customer be met.  Heck, he even said purty please!

So, HTC can either do as requested and toss us the proverbial bone...  Or not.  Their choice.  No amount of gnashing of teeth in this thread will change that simple fact of life.

The only beef with the OP that I really see, is that this thread probably belongs in the Wishlist Section, because that's really what this is...

The answer is Yeswe can, but the update would be very boring.

This month, continued terrain infrastructure redesign that we showed before.

Next would come many questions about what that redesign is, and none can be answered because it is being DESIGNED.

So, Fugitive's post was pretty accurate? :lol
Well this is what your asking for.............

We started on a new terrain system

(Image removed from quote.)

and then two weeks later...........

Well, we weren't happy with a couple of the road layouts so we have moved a few things around, also the code has been cleaned up.

and then two weeks later.....

We're pretty happy with the terrain now. A few of the forseted areas were a bit "sparse" so we loaded them up a bit, this did necessitate a rewrite on a portion of the code, but after testing it looks like its cleaned up nicely and the bugs are all cleaned out.

I'm thinking about a month or so of updates would pass much like that.
