So after making a Recruitment post in the Squadron forum on HTC I decide to ask our guys on our boards what They thought makes a good squad. One Guy, SKYRYDER, comes up with this off the top of his head and from the heart.
TOOLS, well said. I agree with all seven. I would like to add my thoughts.
The most important ingredient in a squad is that certain comraderi that develops among the guys. Trust through Comradeship is essential. Comradeship means (to me) that you feel comfortable and at ease among the team in a relaxed atmosphere. You share a feeling of pride in what we do. A sense of humor is well appreciated. Jokes and stories are shared during long flights. You are here to have fun, and you understand that fun is what this game is about. We all learn each others strengths and weaknesses, and support one another. You remain positive and generate good thoughts and promote confidence throughout the squad. You want to help another team mate at all times, always looking to come to the rescue. A sense of loyalty takes hold, and you can't wait to log on to see who's flying, and to say hello.
These things can not be taught. They must come from within. The right "chemistry" must flow between the players. When this happens, the squad will become like a well oiled machine. We will truly be a force to be reckoned with. And it will be a great time to fly with Righteous Vengeance.
Skyryder.
