perks redone
« on: March 25, 2009, 11:42:13 AM »
I have been here for a few years now, and I find the game pretty much perfect, one of the changes, I would like to see is the perks, I think all planes should have a perk value, even the early war rides. ( this would include GV's)
when you start your two free weeks, all planes/GV's are free of a perk value so you can get a chance to fly all of them, when your two weeks are over and you subscribe you receive a certain number of perks, maybe it could be determined on your performance during your two week trial? with a set min and max perks awarded?
or just a set number, that every one receives when they subscribe,

so say when you run out of perks there should be an arena, "P.E.A.", to earn perk points by doing certain missions that are set up with objectives and goals, (a good use of AI)

now this would get the new guys doing training exercise's, and help them to learn how to fight and survive in the MA's, and all other aspects of AH.

depending on how well you do in the mission's, will depend on how many perks earned, once you do the particular mission you are running, perfect you cant do them over again until your perk value is at zero.

just an idea

:aok +3  It is insane the amount of perks one can store on an account.  Even I can afford a Me262.  I assume that perk values were designed to help simulate scarcity of aircraft.

ENY doesn't sit well with me.  So, I can't fly a P51D or even a F6F Hellcat because of ENY limit, but I can fly a Bf109 K4?

Perk points are pretty easy to earn as it is.  The problem seems to be with some that they are pretty easy to lose too.

Always remember, if you actually land your perk ride, you don't lose any perks.

There are lots of reasons this game is not "perfect".  Be careful how you use that phrase.   ;)

I understand your reasoning behind your desire to change the perk system, but I think you're trying to mount up in the wrong hole.

I like the idea of giving everyone a few hundred perk points at start up, but I also think there are a number of aircraft that should have their values doubled or even tripled not as a result of giving out perks to a new player, but just in general.

There are lots of examples of inconsistancies with regards to the perk and ENY system... I wouldnt try to figure it out.  You'll just stress yourself out and be called a whiner.  Trust me.   ;)

One of the recurrent themes, recently, has been the observation by several that there's an aweful lot of running and avoiding fights going on in the MA.

Seems to me, this idea would encourage people to run from fights instead of risking the loss of their rides. I know the last thing I would want to do is have to report to some perk farm arena for awhile before returning to fly with my squaddies.

probably coincides with alot of people only wanting to fight if its a 3v1 in their favor, and when the lone guy bugs out they cry and make a post about it..

or when a con ignores them and wont agree to fight them over town ack, they wont follow the con out of their own ack to fight him, but thats ok.. its not ok for the con not to want to fight in the middle of enemy ack though..

I don't think there is more or less running away going on than ever.  Some people dont like fighting against lopsided odds, others only want to fight if they have lopsided odds in their favor..  and the varying attitudes create the varying perspectives.

and while Im in favor of perking EVERYTHING.. I don't think doing so would have an effect, positive or negative on the "timid" flying.

To perk everything would make it possible for somebody to not be able to fly anything in an MA.

That is too close to the cluster #@$!$  they had( still have? )  in WW2OL.

There is no better example of how NOT to run a GAME.

ya thats why I was thinking about a place you can go earn perks,

plus I think the multiplier should be different give a better percent to a high ENY plane, for shooting down a low one,

I definitely think they should all be perked to some degree or other.

I dont like the idea of being forced to go to a differnt arena and fight drones just to be allowed to fly in the MA, the way I fly (fighting teh hord) I would be out of points and be stuck in this other arena all the time. I see your reasoning but id rather not.
