Worst food

1. The Worst Food in America of 2009

Baskin Robbins Large Chocolate Oreo Shake
2,600 calories
135 g fat (59 g saturated fat, 2.5 g trans fats)
263 g sugars
1,700 mg sodium

We didn't think anything could be worse than Baskin Robbins' 2008 bombshell, the Heath Bar Shake. After all, it had more sugar (266 grams) than 20 bowls of Froot Loops, more calories (2,310) than 11 actual Heath Bars, and more ingredients (73) than you'll find in most chemist labs.

Rather than coming to their senses and removing it from the menu, they did themselves one worse and introduced this caloric catastrophe. It¹s soiled with more than a day's worth of calories and three days worth of saturated fat, and, worst of all, usually takes less than 10 minutes to sip through a straw.

This one sounds too good not to try:

8. Worst Burger of 2009

Chili’s Smokehouse Bacon Triple-The-Cheese Big Mouth Burger with Jalapeno Ranch Dressing
2,040 calories
150 g fat (53 g saturated)
110 g protein
4,900 mg sodium

You know this burger's in trouble when it takes more than 20 syllables just to identify it. If you think the name’s a mouthful, just wait until the burger hits the table. You’ll be face to face with two-and-a-half day’s worth of fat—a full third of which is saturated. To do that much damage with roasted sirloin, you’d have to eat about eight 6-ounce steaks. It’s nearly three days’ worth of saturated fat.

More nasty goodness:

Looks more like good eats to me.
I'll take one of each.

Can I get some fries with that too?

18. Worst "Healthy" Sandwich of 2009

Blimpie Veggie Supreme (12”)
1,106 calories
56 g fat (33 g saturated fat)
2,831 mg sodium
96 g carbohydrates

Sure, a Veggie Supreme sandwich sounds healthy, but this foot-long comes with three different kinds of cheese, and it’s drenched in oil.

I have a hard time with this.  I went to Blimpie's site and found the ingredients.
Veggie Supreme:
Provolone, American and Swiss with banana peppers, roasted red peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, onion, vinegar, oil and oregano

But according to the site's nutrition facts, those numbers are right.  I've never eaten there so I don't know what the proportions of cheese/oil etc are.  Estimating that a single slice of cheese is 5-7g of fat and oil is about 14-15g of fat per tbsp.  They must really load it up with that stuff.

I never wondered. I've always known exactly why.
Always seemed pretty obvious.

Fortunately for me. Weight has never been a real issue.

Then again. I actually work for a living. That in itself keeps me pretty active.  ;)

Whats always cracked me up. Is the two ton heffers you see going in and ordering this stuff. then topping it off with a "Diet" (insert soft drink)"

See the same thing at grocery stores.
Load the basket up with all kinds of crap. and then have two or three frozen weight watchers frozen dinners and some "diet" soft drinks.

You wanna know a big reason why Americans are fat?

Corn subsidies.  We put refined corn in nearly everything.  The government subsidizes our farmers grow far more corn than is nutritionally needed, and so they slip it into lots and lots of foods you'd never expect in its refined form.

I've seen that website a few times, but this is the first time I noticed "Anyone over 350 pounds eats for FREE... all day - every day unlimited!!"

This has got to be one of the best burger joints ever. I'm going the next time I'm in Phoenix, but thankfully I'll be paying full prices.

Why are Americans getting fat? Easy. Lazy, inactive, lethargic slugs will gain weight no matter what they eat.

Americans spend entirely too much time in front of the TV, at the "movies", at the "ball game", and in front of the computer. Even kids do it, in fact, these days kids are the worst offenders.

Americans do not play ball, they do not hike, they do not hunt, they do not fish, Hell, unless there's food or a game to be watched, they don't even go outside. They work desk jobs, or at work least inside, "protected" from weather and the elements. Too many machines and such have taken the place of physical labor and physical activity.

Exercise and hard work are your friends, not things to be avoided at all costs.

Worst foods? I give you, the grapefruit:
It's evil, disgusting, the only reason it was ever invented was to give something to which to compare the size of a tumor...after we got the softball, the grapefruit should have been discontinued. The other morning I drank what I THOUGHT was lemonade...turns out, it was GRAPEFRUIT....my life flashed before my eyes....had I just brushed ny teeth, I probablay wouldn't be speaking to you now
