So I upped the 262 for the first time in the MA
« on: March 27, 2009, 01:49:01 PM »
I left with a full tank,  gained plenty of speed and jumped into a little furball.  Made sure to not compress,  kept my speed up as I made many unsuccessfull passes.

About 10-15 minutes into my sortie I was HO'd by a Typhy,  caught my engine on fire and I crashed...  Hmmmm..  I am not as dissappointed as I thought I'd be.  = )

You'd be surprised what not even getting a kill in one can do.   You'll knock almost everyone off of their perch and if mildly aggressive, force them off of their "game."

You'll get better info, just practice offline in it and farm more perks.

Absolutely. The intimidation factor, even if you never fire a shot, makes it fun to fly. And if you manage to lose an engine, a one-engine approach and landing in that thing is a real blast. :uhoh

Don't HO anything, unless it's a bomber.
Just fly around, make passes, etc. As said above, you'll scare just about everyone. Keep it fast and fly right around the fight, people will yell "262!" and everyone will scramble away. It's quite a funny sight.

I recently Just got enough perks to fly the 262 after playing for a year...Changing name once. I'm not going to fly it until i reach 1000 perks where...If I do get shot down...Which I know i will....It Won't have that much of an Impact. I do fly it offline though. Make sure there are no hills or trees in your way wile taking off.

Chits and giggles I guess.

It wasn't very fun,  and I probably won't do it again.  Unless my squad wants to run a mission with them...  = )

When they scramble away, you can pick off the stragglers.

Exactly. I usually get one or two that are AFK.

You can also take the 262 deep into enemy territory. 1/2 sectors behind the front line furball, where all the buffs, alt monkeys and many heavy jabos are taking off. You might be surprised how many of them ignore the tiny red darbar you are causing or even the red dot inside their radar circles and simply go afk...  :devil

Take her to 10k first for better fuel economy (higher is often unneccessary), then cut throttle back to 7-8000 rpm. You can cruise for quite some time them while still making 450-500mph

IMO the Me262 isn't worth the perks. Try a tempest next time you'll have a lot more fun.
