Simped F16-C Rudder Pedals with Toe Brake
« on: March 29, 2009, 08:15:49 PM »
I have a Simped F16-C toe brake pedal that I use with my Hotas Cougar..
Everything work just the way I want them up except for the left and right toe brake function in Aceshigh.

There is no problem when I assign the space bar key press for both brake function.

All key press for the left and right brake are recognized in foxy and the cougar control panel.

The rudder pedal is recognized in Aceshigh and also the axis for the toe brakes.

The problem occurs after mapping in AH and calibrating the rudder, took a plane up so that I can land and test the brakes.
So I press and press for the toe brakes to stop the plane, there is no response and eventhrough the are map in AcesHigh correctly and
see the axis value changes back and fourth as I press and releaase the toe brakes.

Is the there anyone out there who might have experience this problem?

Looking for a solution.. It will greatly appreciated..

Thanks.. Jedi

In your HOTAS.ini file what is the setting for RCSType? I think it should be set =0 and not =1 and then make sure the rudder connector to the Cougar is firmly inserted and not loose at all.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

I had my toe brakes mapped to a rotary knob on my X52.  I recently bought some pedals and mapped the toe brakes in AH.  When I went to test them they didn't work.  When I unmapped the rotary knob's brake function the toe brakes started working.

I would make sure the only the toe brakes are assigned a braking function.

Ok Guys, I made some changes and got the toe brakes working in AcesHigh..
Going to INVERT both wheel brake axis in AcesHigh.

First, I don't want to change any of the axis around in the CCP, I am using the microstick for other function and wanted to ket it that way.

So I kept the Toe Brakes on 7 and 8.

I then made the following changes to my TMJ and TMM file.

In the TMJ file:
LBRK 3 Left_Wheel_Brake Left_Wheel_Brake ^
RBRK 3 Right_Wheel_Brake Right_Wheel_Brake ^

I also believe you can do this too and it should work just the same, but I have not tested it as yet.
LBRK 3 Left_Wheel_Brake ^ ^
RBRK 3 Right_Wheel_Brake ^ ^

In the TMM file:
Rem ----------------------------------
Rem Brake Controls
Rem ----------------------------------
Left_Wheel_Brake = /H c
Right_Wheel_Brake = /H v

Game - AcesHigh
1) Make sure the keypress are assign to Left and Right Wheel Brakes - Goto Map Keyboard and check.
2) Goto to map control amd assign the left and right wheel brakes axis.
3) Check the Advance function, Select Scaling and set all the scale sliders to the top, so that the game does not interfer with CCP settings.
4) Drag the damping and DeadBang sliders to the bottom, for the same reason in #3.
5) MOST IMPORTANT - CHECK THAT BOX TO INVERT THE WHEEL BRAKE AXIS (You will need to do this for the left and right separately).
6) I calibrate the Cougar in the game, but don't believe this is necessary.
7) Now up your ride and test your Simped Toe Brakes.

Read my problem above to understand why I had to do this to get it working.

Hope this helps for other sims as well..
