Sure the force used was excessive.  If society was more excessive more often with the justice system there would be a quarter of the crime.  No way would I convict the shop owner of protecting his family and business.  Police officers are held to a higher standard and rightfully so.

Rightfully so? According to whom? Or what?

So your saying the Law should be different for different groups of people? And that it shouldnt be applied equally? And that theres nothing wrong with the continued beating of a suspect, "thats right he hasnt been convicted of nothing", whos laying there helpless and unarmed, isnt wrong?

That statement is so PC.  Caught redhanded robbing a store on videotape.

Actually, if I may re-word that for you....
If society was more apt to dish out partial justice (a good beating like this looser got) before the cops actually got there, there would be less crime...  How much?
That is debatable..  One thing for sure, any punk wanting to rob that store will think again....

I'm sure 9/10 of the time, the cops will tell the shop owner what to say if the guy who tried to rob him presses charges..

A bat is a bat, a chicken is a chicken. When someone is seen doing what this kid did there is no question he did it. Some prefer to turn the other cheek. Hopefully it is their family who pays the price and not some innocent folks. That's right I said innocent folks meaning the one who turns the other cheek is not innocent, he/she is part of the problem.

The innocent till proven guilty can be saved for those not directly caught red handed.

I had to watch this a few more times today....  Totally hilarious how he's got his hand back there like he's got a gun...  Not a smart kid...
First thing I would've done is told him to drop the gun....  Obviously he has no gun to drop, but I wouldn't know that...  So, my reaction would be to draw my weapon
and be sure I cease all his brain functions...  Security camera shows him making the typical ghetto move of
faking like he's got a gun up his arse and ready to pull it out...

These guys need to be sterilized once they get to jail/prison...
No good can come of these people.......ever.....

When that kid was knocking stuff over, he must have knocked open a can of "whoopass", cause he got it all over himself.

You dont think the level of force used was excessive? If it were a cop that gave the beating you'd all be chirping like tweetie birds.

I would be cheering the cop on. I have no problem with somebody getting their bellybutton whipped when they deserve it.

i dont got enough perkies as it is and i like upen my lancs to kill 1 dang t 34 or wirble its fun droping 42 bombs

Boy...hahahaha, thats a mouthful. Every individual right you have crumbling under the weight of one sentence. I hear that the Jews and communists who were caught by the Nazis for starting the Reichstag fire back in the '30s were "caught red handed". No doubt the beatings administered were justice too. Want more? History is filled with them.

You see this is how it begins. It all starts with everybody meaning well and feeling all righteous. It begins with the exceptions made.

And no Anodizer. 9/10'th of the time we wont tell the shop owner what to say. Thats against the law too and why would we risk our jobs to protect some nitwit who decided his need for payback was more important then being lawful?

Yeah I just watched the entire thing. The last two kicks, after the store guy took off his jacket and before he dragged the offender out of the camera view?? These kicks were purely unlawful and couldnt be justified. This store owner would have bee arrested as well.

You obviously don't agree with what you saw, for whatever reason....I can respect that.  But one undeniable fact can be extracted from this:

If he was arrested unharmed, he would add a criminal charge to his record, get a free meal in jail and pay a fine.....then would most likely go out and try to rob someone else at some point.   BUT, judging by what happened, he will have a lasting memory of what happens when he encounters a citizen who refuses to be a victim and it will do alot more than a free ride, a fine and a charge could ever do to discourage this type of activity in the future.

Who knows, after the bruises fade and his vision returns, he may just go GET A JOB and quit trying to be a parasite on society.

Either way, the vast majority is sick of crime and enjoyed seeing this d-bag get what he deserved. :rock

I like it.  I like it because I have been stolen from.  It's not a nice feeling.  If I ever find out who did it, I will make sure NO cameras record what happens. :salute

If someone in my family decided to rob a store, I would expect their rights (and their A double S) to get trampled. :salute

The concept of "innocent until proven guilty" is a legal conceit that establishes the position of the defendent before the majesty of the law.  This is a requirement of the jury.  The cop that arrests an individual is not responsible for a presumption of innocence.  The prosecutor (a representative of the state)  doesn't presume innocence...he is actively trying to convict.  And someone who is in the process of being victimized in a violent crime most certainly is not required to accord a presumption of innocence.

What if someone in your family went in to buy some milk, and somebody kicked the snot outta your family member, and said they were stealing the milk.  Okay by you?  Or should they have to prove the theft first?  You know, "proven guilty" before punishment?

Just asking.
