never published photos from WWII
« on: March 31, 2009, 01:14:05 PM »
ok, here are some pictures my grandfather took during his time in the Luftwaffe. I gave every photo a title, but unfortunately you can only see the title when you follow the link "visit my gallery" in the upper left corner. Then click on the left side on "Russia 1941-1942".  On the sown right corner you have another options menu. There you can rid of the captions.

On some of the photos you will see the fighter aces Dahl, Luetzow and Oesau.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Regards
SirFrancis

link is up in about 40min!!!

edit: pictures are not downloadable anymore. If some1 need a copy, i will send it to him!

Interesting stuff.

I'd suggest watermarking them or they will end up in some one's book somewhere without you receiving any compensation.

wrongway,

I thought about that in the first place. But I had no expenses, I didn´t make the photos, my grandfather is dead. I don`t need any compensation. If someone wants to use them...its ok for me.

That's noble, but I would reconsider.  What if someone uses them in a way that you object to, or uses one to make a bunch of money?  You really want no recourse?

Absolutely, positively the best historic photos I have seen posted yet!

Maybe this excellent collection will encourage others to do the same!

History and family should not be lost.

Thank you VERY much SirFrancis!  (Vielen Dank!)

That's very cool.  My grandfather was in the US Army. My dad has the stuff he brought back but I don't know of any pictures.  He has a German rifle, some medals, money the normal stuff.  My Dad (marines) was in Vietnam he also has pics, money, a knife he used while there called an ear knife (you can imagine what that was used for) and some other misc. stuff.  All very interesting and proud that they survived the wars there where in.

<S> to your gramps and to you for holding these items as family heirlooms.

I would suggest you take the advise of some of these people there is no need for someone else to make money from your grandfather and what he went through.....war is hell!

There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!
