For anyone interested, I have been re working the metallic look for the Spitfire IX.  Tell me what you think.  Is it close to authentic?  :uhoh

just one question, how did you make that into a picture?

:D  Thanks, I am concerned that the dark edges may have given it a look that was less than authentic.

The picture is an animated GIF (format).  It was actually a fluke when looking through the screenshots I saw that it had possibilities for an animation.

Looks great Chilli.  If all else fails you could make a new exhaust stub overlay layer for skinners to use (with credit to you of course)...   :t

Jocko,

You were right on!  That was my intention, and forget about the credit I love doing this stuff.

The skinners deserve all the credit they do a lot more than just paint, they research and match historical details.

That is why I posted this to see if it would pass the authenticity test.  In most of the color photos that I can find, there are no close ups of the exhaust area.  I am not as good as those skinner types who know what metal or alloy was used, and so forth.  Any suggestions here would be appreciated.
