That bullet did not penetrate his chest cavity.  I assumed that's what was going to happen because Darwin awards almost always go to people who get themselves killed.

My dad a few years ago (right when the Darwin stuff really started to become cliched) had a book full of stories.  Turned out that the majority of them turned up to be fake, but a few were quite funny and real.
