Banshee...go into Windows control panel and click on the Power Options icon. Under the power schemes tab there are 4 option boxes for monitor, hard disks, system standby, system hibernate. Set all options to NEVER.

I was having an issue whereby my frame rates dropped from 60 to mid-20's after my computer/monitor were allowed to go into sleep/standby mode. Professor Skuzzy mentioned a bug with WinXP that affects frame rates when the monitor or computer is allowed to slip into standby mode. He was right. I reset all options to NEVER and my issue was solved.

I have 2 gigs of Crucial Ballistix DDR500 Dual Channel PC4000 Ram..  It's top of the line stuff made for overclocking..
Not that you'll be doing any overclocking..  Brand New both sticks were over $200.00 total.
$50.00 bucks for both sticks..  This will solve your problem..
Here's a review---->http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.legitreviews.com/images/reviews/262/Crucial_Ballistix_PC4000_1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.legitreviews.com/article/262/1/&usg=__ag21YrkCqB2Gx2_ad8lJUIfJGSk=&h=291&w=500&sz=41&hl=en&start=1&tbnid=DWmF1Yjaelh7PM:&tbnh=76&tbnw=130&prev=/images%3Fq%3DCrucial%2BBallistix%2BPC4000%26gbv%3D2%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG

Looks like you have the same processor I had..  This stuff works really good with that processor..
PM me if interested..
