Any military vehicle collectors out there?

Just curious to see if there is anyone around the forums here who has any sort of old army truck or collection going.  Anything, like old army jeeps up to armored vehicles, or even aircraft.

I have a collection, which can be viewed by clicking on the link in my signature.  The photos are very outdated as I am too lazy to update them (maybe I will this week).

Yeah, money and space helps!  But if you're willing to do some work on your own as well as spend some time and money, you can find a fixer-upper cheap.  A lot of old army jeeps, for an example, are found in barns.  Many can be bought surplus, but those usually need some work too.

Haha, Steel Soldiers...  There's a picture of my M37 up there that someone else took the day I drove it out of Fort Drum!  I like that site.

You need to host them somewhere, I prefer http://imageshack.us/ because you don't have to set up an account.  Then when you are making a post copy the URL's of where the pictures are hosted, and click the "insert image" icon and past the URL there.  The "insert images" is the icon under the "B" for bold.

1953 Dodge M37

These pictures are somewhat outdated.  The halftrack and the M37 both have new coats of paint.  The M37 now has the late model marker lights and tail lights that are present on current-production military vehicles.  I will try to update them soon!

If anyone is wondering, they all run, and run very well, although the M37 is due for a carburator rebuild.  Halftrack gets about 2 miles/gallon at its current weight of 13,750 lbs and at a speed of about 40 mph.

For a while I worked as a volunteer at one of the local museums.  Several of the soldiers who worked there had their own vehicles.  Until I saw them w/their vehicles it never occurred to me to just buy one & restore it. 

I just may do that.   What kind of tootle around town car can you think of that's better!?!

Looking at buying a late 1940's - early 1950's Willys jeep here locally. The guy hasn't returned my phone call yet but I have stopped and spoken with him about it recently and he wants to let it go for a cheap since it needs to have some interior work to make it really driveable. I don't have all the information on it yet since he has not called me to come by and take a closer look.

I've scrounged up some more pictures of the halftrack and one with the M37 with new paint jobs.  A lot of the newer pics are on a different computer and have yet to be transferred.  Anyways, enjoy!







I'll try to get a better picture of the M37 soon.
