56kable?
« on: April 06, 2009, 11:28:02 AM »
Hi,

I'm in this hotel for the next 6 months and their network basically blocks all the ports that requires for most games. My question is this game runable w/ 56k modem O.o ?

the speed of the connection doesn't matter as much as the quality of the connection. A 200ms ping that is solid is better than a 55ms average ping that jumps from 25ms to 200ms. So as long as the 56k is steady you won't be warping.

I'll second that. I knew someone from Canada who could host a 6-player room in the old 8-player with very little lag. He also rarely warped. This game is definitely dial-up friendly. :aok

You should be ok, I think Skuzzy said anything under 300 was good. I don't know what "set backs" you might have. I've had cable a long time.
