I haven't used a stall horn sound in years. I know it's on but at 10% level? I guess I pretty much don't get near it anymore. I do hear lots of folks in the TA complainin that in a fight their stall horn is blaring continuously. I kinda scratch my head at that cause I'm nowhere near a stall. I find if you spend more time rolling than pulling yer plane flys smoother.
I normally have CT turned on. I'm getting old, lazy and get as many kills with it on as off. My hits sounds are turned off. I scares the beegeezus outa me if someone shoots me so why bother. If I broke it all down
I can hear my engine running, I hear my flaps and gear, I barely hear my guns firing.
I guess I want to be able to hear other folks on vox.

My thoughts on true immersion?

TrackIR with a good 3D headset. No screen. Move your head and the lil screens 1/2 inch in front on yer eyes moves with it. Now if we could come up with a headset that doesn't cost $600-$7000 I'd be using em both right now. As it is I sold my TrackIR until a cheap/good headset comes out.

And yes I've tried my projector on the big screen. Resolution is resolution so what's a dot at 4K is merely a bigger dot on a big screen....I currently use a 24" flat screen with the res maxed out. I'd trade it right now for a decent headset...

If you really want to get realistic do like I do. Turn off your icons. It's fun!!! Why?

1) It makes you treat every plane as an enemy until his intentions are telegraphed by his actions.

2) Distance is what it is. When he fill the windscreen it's time to shoot him.

3) Unfortunately, unlike RL if yer in an Allied plane and you see an Axis bird (seeing how you got close enough to see him smiling at you), any bird has to be considered an enemy.

If you get shot down cause you looked like a deer caught in the headlights, trying to figure out what plane that is, at least you'll never get bored.

Try this: fight until you are killed then sit out the rest of the tour. That should modify your flying style for sure.

You have more patience than I do Baumer, but I figured that out early on. ;)

I think your post speaks volumes on the efforts of HTC to model the engine managements especially as far as you have taken it. I personally would not be into as much as others.

I have turned off enemy icons many times in the past and have really enjoyed it. :) Would love for events to have another icon option.

As Morf said you found another way to add to your longevity and enjoyment of Aces High.
