I like the way it works now, but sometimes I accidentally delete a film of a sortie without saving it. 

I film every sortie and at the end decide if I want to keep it, usually by assigning a name to it.  I review a lot of my films to see where I screwed up.    I would like to leave it as it is where you can name the film and save it after each sortie, but have an additional option where even if I didn't check saving the film, it would still automatically be saved in the file folder under its film number.  Sort of a back up system.  The player after logging then could edit the folder and get rid of what they don't want.  This I hope would lessen the chance of deleting a film you really wanted to keep.

Perhaps another checkbox in addition to the 'auto-film' option for something like 'Remove Cancel Button?'

I'm just the opposite.  Lock my mouse to use it as a sight and can't cancel without the mouse and if I try to unlock the mouse, the film gets named HHHHH.

I see the auto film but not the save.  I understand that all you have to do is hit enter, but sometime I screw up and accidently hit delete instead.  Just would like a back-up similar to what Challenge stated.  Its not an issue with the game, its more of a human issue.

yeah, i usually hit cancel after a sortie, but sometimes i save the films. i was planning on saving the FSO film yesturday but without thinking i moved the cursor to cancel and clicked.

This would be rather strange.... Giving the user a choice between saving or removing the film. Yet upon removing, the film is still on the hard-drive placed in one of the film folders.... Doesn't this sound rather ironic? I think such a feature would be stupid, as it doesn't give the user a choice in-game as was intended.

You answered the issue in your last sentence.  Place a selection box where us stupid folks can elect to have it saved as a back-up to their hard-drive.  That is basically what I am looking for.

Since is would automatically save the film, then stupid would be fixed.  Proves your point wrong.  Wouldn't matter how many times stupid pressed cancel, it would still save as a back-up to the hard drive.  That is if you elect to select the stupid box in the preferences section to allow this stupid function.

The way it was saved before were by placing it in sequential numbers, film 1,2,3 and so on.  I like the option of naming the film after a sortie, but again sometimes I do the stupid thing and accidentally hit cancel.  I was just looking for a back-up function for when I do those stupid things.

What you need, that I also wish was implemented, is an Auto-Save option that saves a film, without asking, when a flight is ended, either by landing or death.

Or, an option to Auto-Save if the film is stopped.

That way, the possibility of accidentally deleting it is not there.  It is easier to go through your film folder and delete films you don't want later than it is to get an unsaved film back.

Otherwise, slow down.  Watch what you're pushing before you push it.

Or, an option to Auto-Save if the film is stopped.

That way, the possibility of accidentally deleting it is not there.  It is easier to go through your film folder and delete films you don't want later than it is to get an unsaved film back.

Otherwise, slow down.  Watch what you're pushing before you push it.

What you just stated in this post is what I was wishing for.  I still would like the pop up box after each sortie so I can name films when I don't do the stupid thing.

I agree there should be a selection box for those that do or don't what this function.

Hallelujah, I'm not the only one... I have the auto recorder running, but somehow I've gotten into this habit of hitting cancel as soon as the window comes up. I know this is my fault, not the fault of the game, but I've lost soooo many videos of either an excellent kill that I wanted to relive, or a great loss that I wanted to study...

I kind of wish it would just automatically save the film with a name of the aircraft you were flying and the field you took off from or something.. (haven't thought that through completely.)

But definitely +1.
