I bought an Uncle Mikes once, and wish I could go back and reverse that decision.  I wouldn't recommend it to anyone serious about carrying.

Id go with a soft leather over the felt lined plastics that are out there. The felt attracts moisture more which means more cleaning and the felt soaks up the oils. Ask yourself how long of a day are you carrying it as well before you decide. Uncle mikes stuff is more for the every now and then user. Bianchi used to make a pretty good holster like what you are looking for. Hiding a colt is either easy or uncomfortable over time. Its rarely both at the same time for the same amount of time if that makes any sense.

Galco probably makes the best gun leather on the market right now, I like the SOB and the MOB. The Bianchi stuff is pretty decent.

I'll take my ancient 1911 pattern any time. Being a single action does not make it dangerous, it makes it inconvenient. And slow if you do not train with it. The 1911 teaches excellent trigger discipline.

Treize,
Attached is the link for the Galco website, i found the make of my holster for my Kimber 1911, It is the Concealable.   Ive had this thing for years, its not cheap, but its not that expensive either. I have mine on a Galco belt, the holster will run you about 109.99USD, and the belt another 50.00 to 65.00USD (thats in our shop, prices vary). I use the Galco belt because it matches up with the holster perfectly, and the holster does not have that "floppy, loose" feeling. The forward cantilever of the holster makes for a natural feel when pulling it, as it is the natural motion of pulling the gun and bringing it up and forward.

There is a bunch available for your Colt. Good luck. Again IMO, the Kydex and nylon holsters arent great for a 1911. With that said i do have a kydex for a couple of my other cc guns ( Glock, HK and Sigs) but not for my 1911. And truthfully, my Kimber is my primary cc gun. Hope this helps.
